I never know whether to say congratulations you posted so many times or commiserations your life is a website.
I try to toe the line. My post per day is about 3.5 and I know like 4 users' real names, all of this in attempt to feel like the dominant part of my lifestyle is non-computer related. Then again, who am I kidding?

Haha thank you everyone so far. You will all be properly recognized in my 10K thread, and then promptly made fun of HARD for being over 30 years old in a website that will be hyping Derek Whibley and Avril Lavigne's child's horrible band by then.

Like I said earlier, I don't invest an abundance of time here. I usually just lurk for a little while out of the day and then post when I think I can say something funny. I don't do chat threads or recs or pics or PMs or n00dz or any of that nonsense, I'm just a casual user who is more of an observer than a partaker. Ergo, I deserve what I get. Casual thanks for a casual guy.

If you see me in a thread, it's usually because I like that artist. My taste in music is pretty sporadic which prevents me from being able to find a niche or musical identity but it's all good. I have a penchant for soul and reggae courtesy of mom, all things classic rock via dad, and seminal punk and emo via my sister. Everything else is me venturing out and trying to find music on my lonesome (which usually ends in failure). So there you have it. Me in a crunkshell.

Yeah, what a bust. Maybe there will be more traffic tomorrow. Or maybe I actually have done what I said I do and kept a safe distance from everyone so that they pay no mind. Either way, I'll keep on keepin on.

i know where ya coming from about no musical niche, i'm the same, not that it ever bothers me haha. but walk me through this soul & reggae interest if you will mate, i know you're an al green fan, but what else along those paths are you feelin'? hard to find good reggae fans sometimes... well folks who actually understand the real side to it anyway

That would be more of my mom to talk to since she is responsible for all things reggae in my life. She introduced me to the older stuff like King Tubby, Scratch Perry, Junior Byles, Prince Buster et al and then of course if you remember the Favorite Albums thread I still consider The Harder They Come my favorite soundtrack and like 4th favorite album of all time. Both my folks are huuuge Jimmy Cliff fans so from that soundtrack I discovered the more well-known stuff like Funky Kingston and the post-70s stuff by The Skatalites.
As far as dub is concerned, I really dig Scientist and used to listen to some other Greensleeves stuff like Eekamouse and Shabba Ranks but it's been a few years since I've spun them to be honest. Just recently Courtney turned me on to Fat Freddy's Drop and I've been impressed with what I've heard thus far.
That's about the extent of it. I used to be big on ska in middle school about 9 or 10 years ago but there isn't a whole lot to skank to in Michigan when it's -10C and the snow is up to your calves.

damn, sign your old lady up to ap haha, some great artists right there. when fat freddy's released based on a true story a couple years back i brought it straight to ap, knowing some members would eat it up, & no one i've shown them to hasn't enjoyed them so far haha
greensleeves has their moments, but most of the bands on their roster don't do it for me. most (definitely not all) of them are that awful singer & back-up band playing tired rhythms set-up. doesn't sit well
& why isn't this thread close to being archived yet?!

Hahaha this thread got wedged in between the best and worst user threads and the Circa Survive thread ordeal. If I wanted recognition, I'd have a party with my friends; I don't expect you all to get hyped over this "milestone." Save it for the important things, like when a hot girl starts posting in a suicide thread.
