I found the Hum cd last year used for a really good price and I noticed alot of people here like them. I think they are really overrated and aside from Stars and maybe 1 other song the cd is garbage.

Hum was a massively popular rock band from the mid 90's. Their biggest hit was easily "Stars" known then by probably everyone who enjoyed rock music. The dude who started this thread is right though, they were overrated but have had an impact on a lot bands. Please brush up on your rock history lessons before posting in this thread...or saying that you think someone is making this up.

Absolutely, I can't believe a lot of people haven't heard of them.

Sam, that statement is wrong...I get that you probably heard someone say this somewhere but it's incorrect. Finch could easily exist without Hum. They are obviously mainly influenced by the Deftones with a touch of Glassjaw.

of course they could still exist... but hum is a band that may have paved a path for bands that are like finch.

They really aren't alike...It bugs me when people say that. Glassjaw and the Deftones paved the way....Even Thursday.

Hum is the basis of most of your favorite bands today. They had a huge influence on many bands. I love them.
