Declaration of the Personal Life Forum

In an attempt to clean up the Personal Life forum, I am urging regulars to keep an eye on flooding the forums with mindless threads, repeats and to keep topics to a minimum (we don't need more than one thread involving anal, marijuana or anything regarding n00dz). Please try to refrain from encouraging such threads that wind up as clutter in this forum.

Feel free to message me if you have any comments/concerns/etc. -- I am taking this up entirely on my own doing in an effort to improve the image of this forum and make it a friendlier, all-around better place to post.

Basically, anything that happens in your sex life should be in one thread that already relates to that topic. It's simply pointless and derivative to make a thread about your excellent adventure in Anal Town -- no one cares if you are seeking attention that badly, just post in a thread people are already subscribed to. This goes for any topic -- Melissa tried it once, I'm gonna try it again.

hey, just read that post and quite frankly the way you reacted surprised me allot. given, that there was no slam dunk come back for it either, you still supprised me, and i for one know you try your best, so keep up the good work. and i really don't know what brought on this whole makeover of PL but regardless the "prestigious members" shouldn't have any say in the matter. this is the forum that iv always posted in and will continue to post in, so i guess what im trying to say is that save for the occasional bad thread nothing was/is wrong here.

- Any threads with nudity, links to pornography

- In the case of PL, threads that are created with no real intent that "flood" the forum as closed to refrain cluttering.

Example: many "n00b" users often create threads for one small problem that could be posted in a thread already made. While some believe this looks "tacky," it simply eliminates the problem of "flooding" and clutter. Hence the reason I have been locking threads to keep the mess minimal. While this may upset some users, the rules are simple -- if regulars cannot adjust to such basic changes, they will have to make the proper adjustments or contact me so we can discuss alternative options.

This PL clean-up was not due to complaints by members, staff or anyone else -- PL has long been a largely unmoderated forum. Melissa Johnson was the first staffer to take control of the place and once she left, it sort of all went to hell. I decided to take it upon myself to simply keep a close eye on things in order to keep it tidy. It might not be something many members like at first, however, it is something that needs to be done in order to bring in new members, help bring a positive light to the forum and turn over a new leaf. I'm sorry this was long -- but you asked and have been openly curious, so if you would like to pass this message along to other PL members, by all means do.

I mean, while the music forum will rip apart a kid coming in and starting a thread about Alesana (or any of the other countless bands that don't fit in with the music forum's standards of "good music"), we in PL get noobs asking about fucking dogs. We have the shittiest noobs and shittiest threads but we take them and entertain ourselves while still discussing serious problems when people have them. Trying to contain the entire forum within ten threads doesn't accomplish anything but upsetting the regulars. Honestly, is the forum any better now than it was last week?
