I know there are not many modern punk/indie bands who really solo a lot, but which one of these guys brings back the the solo the best?

None of these bands are indie (and none of them are really punk, either), but out of those my favorite is Rivers Cuomo.

Uh, Thom Yorke, Morrissey, Albert Hammond Jr., Jeremy Enigk, Mike Kinsella, John Lennon or Stephen Malkmus? I'm sure I'm still missing a few essentials.

John Lennon? I'm talking about like newer music here man, and also a person I forgot to add somehow is Claudio Sanchez from Coheed and Cambria, he is a fucking amazing guitar player....

the two best guitarists in the scene are vinny (brand new) and teppei (thrice). their leads are out of this world. also my two biggest influences when coming to guitar.

I am a pretty big fan of the leads Vin plays, however they are usually rather simplistic (not a bad thing, just not as technically impressive.)

If you're being serious, then that is the most ridiculous statement ever said. I'm sorry dude, but go listen to the end lead in "To Awake And Avenge The Dead" or the lead in the breakdown to "Good To Know If I Need Attention..." and if that's not good to you, then I don't know what to tell you.

well i grew up on zeppelin lol. obviously jimmy page blows away anyone out now. but still man...saying teppei isn't a real guitarist? that's just absurd. teppei is hands down the best guitarist in the scene. listen to his leads; no one plays leads like that nowadays. even vinny's leads standout very much in today's music.

like...i'm not trying to be an asshole, i'm clearly just fighting my opinion on the subject. i don't know if you play guitar or not, which probably sways your opinion on the matter. just...get into more thrice :-)
