So this tour starts up in the next few days and I'm hoping someone will be able to tell me Emery's setlist - or at least confirm wether or not they are still wearing their white jumpsuits and how long they played for. I am going only for Emery so they are the only one's I really care about getting info for, but feel free to post stuff about the other bands for everyone else. Thanks.

I don't think they wear the white jumpsuits anymore, but if I wasn't seeing Thrice the night before and having to go back to school for a midterm, I'd be posting the setlist from Atlanta.

at Lifest in Oshkosh, Wi this july they had white jumpsuits, which is why i asked. so they may be coming back because they said they were contemplating about wearing them on future tours

it really isnt that much different. maybe a bit from silence of black and white, but its pretty much the same sound just without screaming. i dont know why people think "they sound different".

but i bet its balanced pretty damn good. hawthorne heights knows what their fans want, and they give it to them. i just hope they keep playing the transition.

I sure as hell hope that won't be the case. I am so pissed that I missed out on their headlining tour earlier this year, from what I saw on setlist websites they had absolutely terrific sets. However, since they're not headlining this tour they're gonna play fewer songs but I'm sure it'll still be worth it.

I personally prefer that they only play like 3 songs from IOAM, but I know that that won't happen. Odds are since they aren't headlining they'll play mostly new songs and stuff from IOAM, as well as studying politics and walls, but I wouldn't even be suprised if they don't play walls on this tour.

If Emery doesn't play Walls I'd be incredibly surprised, unless they play As Your Voice Fades instead.

The last three times I've seen emery they had as your voice fades as an alternate for one of the songs on their setlist, but they never played it. I only want to hear them play that and fraction then I will be content.

emery will not not play walls

their headlining tour was amazing. at least they aren't opening for chiodos again, seeing at they have only released 2 cds and emery is up to 4... that show sucked because they were pretty much forced to only play like 40 minutes because of the lack of chiodos songs. at least hh has 3 cds

I just got home from this tour. I really dislike Emery, Tickle Me Pink does nothing for me, and I only know two or three Hawthorne Heights songs, but it was a lot of fun. I was pretty much just going for The Mile After and I was a little iffy about the fact that I was paying $20 just to see the first opening band and a few songs from The Color Fred, but TMA seriously did not disappoint at all. I didn't get to stay to see HH but I'm pretty confident in saying that TMA was the best of the night. If anyone's interested, they played:

Afternoon Delight [cover song]
Last Night at Face Value
So Damn Easy (Kelly, Dear)
Piano Song
I Believe in a Thing Called Love [cover song]
The Only One

The only thing that could have made their set better would have been if they played either Let It Down or The Way It Should Be. But they were a lot of fun and the vocals were perfect. I'm a sucker for three-part harmonies and they absolutely killed it. So basically, if you're considering going to this tour, go at least for them. It's worth it.

The Color Fred was really good, too. I don't know that many of his songs, but he did Get Out, If I Surrender, Hate To See You Go, two new songs (one was called Terrible Things, or something) and I think one or two more.

acatalano
10/19/08, 09:16 PM
damn, thats shorter than i expected. i can only guess it'll be longer after the new cd comes out (hopefully). i'm just surprised only 9 songs with being direct support to a band that has had 3 releases. and damn, they're opening with walls... at least it isn't like the take action tour where it was like 2nd or 3rd.

i just put the songs into a playlist on itunes and its only a little more than 30 minutes. oh man, i hope they play more or im not sure if it is worth 20 bucks.

emery only got 35 minutes tonight cuz of stupid hawthorne heights, crowd was screaming for one more song but they couldn't. So their short set was:

Walls
The Smile, The Face (new song)
Party Song
Ponytail Parades
Don't Bore Us Get to the Chorus
The Edge of the World (new song)
Playing with Fire
Studying Politics

They sounded great and the new songs were amazing. They should have headlined this for sure. It looked like about 35 people actually were staying for hawthorne heights. Devin said after the show that they are planning a headlining tour in april after they record another album.

I'm SO glad to see that Emery was amazing. I've been listening to them since I was 14 and they, like lots of other people, have seen me through four years of a lot of everything. I never in a million years thought I'd get the opportunity to see them *hardly anyone decent comes to MS*. but *YAY!* i get to see them TOMORROW in Hattiesburg!! It's my first concert too, so it being Emery *and HH of course!* is making it that much more AWESOME for a first concert.

I was wondering, I saw that someone posted Emery's set list *which is pretty effing amazing!* but what about HH's?

The concert last night in Hattiesburg was AMAZING. Emery and Tickle Me Pink totally stole the show. I'd say less than 100 people showed up and most of them were there for Emery; the younger ones were there for HH.

The lead singer of The Mile After was rude, one of his bandmates made up for it though. Tickle Me Pink was fantastic. Emery left me speechless. And HH was great but seemed to lack a little energy last night..I was a little disappointed.

TCF wasn't there because of prior engagements...playing in NY with Coheed and Cambria, that is!

just got back from the san antonio show:

hawthorne did an acoustic before the show at another venue, i guess it wasn't really promoted very well because there were only like 6 people there, but it was still great. i would reccommend people check this out, they have the dates listed if you go to their actual website. they played:
-somewhere in between
-niki fm
-four becomes one
-rescue me

tickle me pink put on a really good show. also they are really nice guys, they played:
-the time is wrong
-i can't breathe
-the lush life
-go die
-madeline
-typical
-cover

hawthorne's set was awesome, despite a large part of the crowd that left after emery. they played:
-321
-niki fm
-saying sorry
-the transition
-blue burns orange
-somewhere in between
-four becomes one
-this is who we are
-pens and needles
-rescue me
-ohio is for lovers

No, Emery did not play longer due to The Color Fred's absence, neither did any of the other bands. Instead the whole show started 15 minutes later than it should have and I'm guessing the show ended a little earlier as well. Here's Emery's setlist (my guess is that they rotate between Can't Stop The Killer and Party Song on this tour)

Denver, CO 11/13/08

Walls
The Smile, The Face
Rock N Rule
Edge Of The World
Ponytail Parades
Can't Stop The Killer
Don't Bore Us, Get To The Chorus
Playing With Fire
Studying Politics

Thanks!

Although not the worst crowd I've ever seen, it was pretty bad. And just as I predicted, most people were there for Tickle Me Pink, and a few people I was talking to were even expecting The Color Fred to play haha. I was honestly bored as hell during Hawthorne's set, they are losing it.

Tickle Me Pinks sucked ass. I was kind of looking forward to them since i've heard they were so good, but they came out acting like cocky douchebags... then sucked. Emery was awesome.

but yeah, i dont know whats been going on with Hawthorne Heights. They've always kind of been my band for some reason and I fucking love seeing them. But last night was bad. 11 songs? come on, you have three solid cd's. I saw them in Omaha in August and they only played 12 songs, but i kind of let it slide since it was a one-off show type thing in a tiny ass bar. This was their HEADLING tour so we should get more.

And they've deffinately lost the stage presence since Casey's been gone. I've always been left worn out and blown away after their shows, but I actually got bored! what the fuck!?

Emery was fantastic tonight at The People's Court in Des Moines, IA!!!!
Here's the set list:

Walls
Ponytail Parades
The Edge of the World
Rock-N-Rule
Don't Bore Us, Get to the Chorus
Can't Stop the Killer
The Smile, The Face
Studying Politics
The Party Song
So Cold I Could See My Breath

The only thing that sucked was there were 5 million scene kids there who decided a push pit was a good idea. Well, that and the other bands weren't good either.

At the merch table if you bought the EP you got a wristband to meet Emery after the show! So I did :) They signed my EP, took a picture with me, and I got hugs from Devin, Dave, and Josh!

Ha, the only reason I went was to play the Wii. It was my first show ever too, and as one would imagine going to their first rock concert, my ears rang for the next two days.

I'm hitting this up tonight in Denver, I'll post Emery's set for sure.

haha, it was my first show too!

Yeah, there wasn't a ton of people at the show in Des Moines. Maybe 75? Lots of interesting people too.. some were there for The Mile After, the bulk for HH, and then about 20 of us strictly for Emery. Lots of middle/high school lads :(

Do you mean that there are very little people at the show,
Or there are too many people?

Tonight is the Cleveland date, while I didn't really like Emery's last LP and haven't heard the new EP I would have liked to go to this for them because they kill live.

Sweet!
I don't care much for HH,
I'm really only going for Emery and TCF.

hawthorne's set was awesome, despite a large part of the crowd that left after emery. they played:
-321
-niki fm
-saying sorry
-the transition
-blue burns orange
-somewhere in between
-four becomes one
-this is who we are
-pens and needles
-rescue me
-ohio is for lovers

this makes me so mad. they were here in pittsburgh last night and I wasn't allowed to go because I went to Cobra Starship Friday night. If I knew that they were playing these songs, I would've skipped Cobra and went there. :( Amazing Hawthorne Heights set list. Does anyone have any good quality videos from this show? I would kill for any videos from Hawthrone Heights or Color of Fred. Anyone?

You didn't miss anything Sat night. HH absolutely sucked. Half the crowd left after emery, and HH did nothing but talk about why we should buy their stupid album and how its stupid to Pirate. If I wanted to watch the home shopping channel and Dr. Phil all in one I would have watched channel in channel at home.

Emery freaking killed it though.

I even saw Emery at Primantis haha

There was an emery song I really really liked that they played,
but I don't remember what it was called,
I don't even think they said the title.

some lines I heard were something about a son and a daughter,
and not being perfect yourself.

Help?

That would be the song 'Can't Stop The Killer' off of their third album I'm Only A Man. If you're entirely new to Emery, start with their second album The Question and then go any other way from there.

Does anyone have the setlist for the 11/25/08 Emery show at Blender Theater? I have this problem where after the show I think I heard songs that weren't actually on the setlist, so if someone could hook me up with that info that would be great.

Heard the tour did 150-ish at the Shelter in Detroit. Originally booked for the 800 cap St. Andrews Hall. Yikes.
