Finally, Total Request Live is being taken off air. There is now officially no music on music television...not that anything they played on TRL was music anyway.

Meh, we don't get proper MTV here in Canada anyways. Ours doesn't have a license to play any music, so we just hours and hours of The Hills and My Super Sweet Sixteen.

I'm not gonna miss it plus I hardly bother to watch mtv anymore since their is lack of decent music videos when they do show any and also for the fact that it seems everytime I flip pass that channel their showing that Americas Next Top Model BS and thats basically in marathons so yeah not gonna miss it and I will just stick to fuse which is still showing music videos for now.

I guess so, Much Music is actually a pretty good channel. Countdown is mostly the same crap as MTV, but we actually have shows on Much that play some relatively unknown videos. And we get Video on Trial. Best fucking show ever.

TRL only played 15% of said video that was on their countdown anyways, and the music they featured on it usually wasn't that good to begin with. Good riddance I say.

I'm not saying they're great with the selection, but before I moved to the states, I enjoyed watching videos, regardless of the band. I just like 3-6 minute short stories set to music, I suppose. I was stoked that bands like Sloan, DFA 1979, Arcade Fire and New Pornographers all received airplay (mostly because, you know, they're natives).

I remember when the backstreet boys and N*sync would battle it out for number 1 everyday. Everyday i would come home from 3rd grade schooling and watch it with my aunt. Shit like the groups or not, that kept me on the edge of my seat. That was good television.

I'd rather watch a channel that plays mildly entertaining, scripted reality dating shows than Fuse any day of the week FUSE used to be good, but now all the do is play movies and other shitty stuff. I enjoy Steven's Untitled Rock Show on occasion, but that comes on like after midnight.

mtv live acually used to be pretty good and have cool bands on it, but now they've changed that too.

this show sucked since Carson Daly went off... well actually it just always sucked. year after year playing a teeny clip of music that was the same for like a year, just with the songs changed on the list.

MTV needs to have at least 2 hours where they show FULL music videos.
