I Miss Weezer was supposed to recommend with me, so hopefully he'll give them to me later to post. (done)

Anyways, enjoy these recs, because they'll probably be the last for a little while.

Bloc Party (http://www.blocparty.com) - Silent Alarm. So everyone seems to already know of Bloc Party but if you haven't heard Silent Alarm, you need to.

Burmese - Men. I first heard about Burmese from a site I frequent that makes Pitchfork look mainstream, and while I wasn't sure what to expect because they usually deal with more jazz, avant-garde and obscure indie, this stuff is brutal and weird.

Clann Zú (http://www.clannzu.com) - I think I might have recommended Clann Zú before, but regardless, they're pretty awesome. Rua was great and while Black Coats and Bandages dropped some of the prominence of the celtic influences, it was a beautiful album.

Eric Prydz - To be honest, I don't know much of his catalogue, but I do know that the song "Call On Me" is awesome. I think he only has a bunch of singles and remixes out anyways.

Glass and Ashes (http://www.noidearecords.com/bands/glassandashes.html) - So apparently I completely missed the boat on 2004's Aesthetic Arrest but thanks to a pno review, I checked it out, and it's great. If you like PMFS' new one, you should like this too.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor (http://brainwashed.com/godspeed/) - I'm sure most of everyone knows Godspeed, but I'm sure some haven't listened to them, and if that's the case, you should immediately buy their stuff. Their debut F#A# oo was absolutely amazing, as was Slow Riot for New Zero Kanada on which they got a lot louder, and Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven was amazing as well. Some of their work is some of the best orchestral political rock around.

Hair Police (http://www.freedom-from.com/hairpolice/) - Obedience Cuts is insane. Some great chaotic noise.

Jesu - Jesu. If you're a fan of slow drone metal (a la Isis or Pelican) you need this.

Wolf Eyes (http://wolfeyes.net/) - I'm sure I've mentioned Burned Mind before (at least on my top list for 2004), but if you haven't checked it out, it's awesome stuff...freaky, but awesome.

----I Miss Weezer----

Originally my picks were all going to start with the letter A so you
could find them when your looking for the new Armor For Sleep album on Tuesday, but after going through my playlists late at night earlier this week I changed my mind. Feedback is always welcome, but e-mail it to me since I won't be near a computer this weekend. (My e-mail is Tim.McCall@gmail.com)

American Analog Set - Updates EP

Che Arthur - All Of Your Tomorrows Were Decided Today

Audible – Sky Signal

Mates of State – Team Boo

God. That Eric Prydz song is the most annoying song ever made. I fucking HATE dance music, and my roommate plays that song over, and over, and over again. BAD RECS RYAN muhahahaha

Yeah, my roommate plays that song quite often as well, which is how I learned of it. Don't worry though, you won't have to deal with my recs for a while.

Awesome recommendations as always!

I love Godspeed You!, Jesu, and Wolf Eyes.
That Wolf Eyes album is so fucking creepy if you turn of the lights, throw on some headphones, and partake in the use of a few illegal substances before hand.
Same goes for the newest Godspeed You! record, Yanqui U.X.O.

Anyway, thanks for the good picks. It seems you always pick a few artists that I love and then some good ones I've never heard of. I'll definitely be checking out the ones I haven't heard.

Take care.

Also: You should check out Silver Mount Zion (if you have not already). They are sort of a stripped down side-project of GY!BE. Really wonderful lush, anguish-eliciting music.

this is the reason why I think you are the best AP staff member.

good recommendations, solid, and you give a full description of each band.

nice to see that you actually submit quality stuff here.

Yeah dude, A Silver Mt. Zion is good stuff. Yeah, the Wolf Eyes is great stuff. I've been screwing around with some music prog I got recently making some noise stuff, but I wish I had more professional equipment because I just can't make it as cool as some of their stuff. I'll probably put it on a purevolume site soon since I have like 3 songs as of now.

Man. I fell in love with that Call On Me song when I was in Germany in December. Seriously, what a hot song (and the video's pretty easy on the eyes, too..).

I wish American pop music was like this.

psh please, ratatat is awesome.

anyways great recs. godspeed is awesome stuff, i think their EP is their best work to date though. i've been meaning to get around to picking up the new jesu album, but the lack of funds is the only thing holding me back.

edit: i forgot to mention that i don't like the new bloc party full length that much. it isn't as fun as the EP was if you ask me.
