I've had a damn good week, so this music definitely reflected it:

The Rocket Summer (http://www.therocketsummer.com) - The new album managed to do what I didn't think was possible, and that is outdo Calendar Days. This new cd is so amazing and be sure to pick it up when it comes out!

Bright Eyes (http://www.saddle-creek.com) - "Land Locked Blues" is one of the greatest songs ever written. Period.

The Academy Is... (http://www.theacademyrock.com) - Their new cd is a perfect one to listen to when you're running. Great catchy stuff, awesome exercising music.

The Mars Volta (http://www.themarsvolta.com) - Forget everything you've heard about what is the best record of the year so far and go get their new cd, Frances The Mute, when it is released. This is truly one of the greatest pieces of music to come along in awhile, if only for the reason that they aren't afraid to put FOUR 10+ minute songs on there.

Also listen to Circle Takes The Square, Spin Perry, Anberlin, Armor For Sleep, Gatsby's American Dream, Shivery, Chimera Twilight, Ashley Parker (I think all or almost all of these bands have pureVOLUME pages.)

My movie recommendation of the week is to NOT go see Constantine unless you feel like seeing shit in movie form. Go see Hitch, especially if it's for a date.

no shit, it's keanu reeves and it appears to just throw the devil's advocate and the matrix together to form one solid shit fest.

i'm not a fan of the songs with emmylou's back up vocals on "im wide awake.."
i do however, like the recording when conor did it alone, i believe it was titled "one foot over the other"

Constantine wasn't all that bad, it was entertaining. It is way better than anything else that's out right now, or that had been out for a while

Best recs for the second week in a row. Maybe longer I just know for a fact that the past two have been good in my book.

I have trouble getting through the Academy Is album because I listen to "Slow Down" about 5 times in a row by then have already arrived at my destination. But the few times I have made it through were excellent listens.

I absolutely cannot wait for the new Rocket Summer....cannot wait.

Im still trying to find another person in the world that likes "Digital Ash In A Digital Urn" better than "Im Wide Awake, Its Morning"....I may be the only one.
