I'm talking fast impressive solos and stuff here, not complex chords and songwriting, although that is arguably more impressive.

I just saw the Liar In The Glass video by Eyes Set To Kill and the guitarist was doing some nice solo work, what other girl guitarists can SHRED?

Kaki King is, without a doubt, one of the best contemporary guitarists. This sentiment has been echoed by critics and fans alike. She's very talented.

Where's Kim Gordon or Joni Mitchell's mentions? Oh, here. Also Cosey Fanni Tutti wasn't techincally solid, but she was innovative.

EDIT - Tina Weymouth was the musician who made me want to play a bass.

Joan Baez played rather conventionally, but she was very technically sound and impressive.
