There's bands like Saves The Day, Get Up Kids.. etc, that most people on here really love. It's like, Stay What You Are/Through Being Cool by Saves The Day and Something To Write Home About by Get Up Kids are two albums that everyone here loves (it seems like they're a lot of people's favourites albums) and yet, I just can't seem to like them. I don't know, I just can't get into them at all. I don't think they're bad or anything, but yeah I just can't get into them.

Maybe it's just the vocals of all these three bands? I can't say I'm a fan of the vocals of either band. But anyway, is there anyone who doesn't like these bands too? Or other bands that are "big" in this music scene?


I could mention Taking Back Sunday, but yeah, I don't think they've had as much of an impact like the other two bands have.

The only Saves the Day album I liked a lot was In Reverie. As for Get Up Kids, I wholeheartedly agree with Alan when I say that their best album is On a Wire. The rest are just so, ugh, you know.

I've liked all saves the day and get up kids albums.

Out of bands who have made a huge impact, i guess i've never really liked Nirvana. Also, the Foo-fighters have a few good tracks, but i've never really gotten into them.

I agree with you about 'Something To Write Home About', I only like one song on there. I just couldn't get into the rest of it...

I love saves the day, there just innocent and such good fun to listen to basically, no matter what your mood is.

i'd say stay what you are is std's best cd and to me the get up kids have a few good songs but overall their cds dont impress me that much

Saves the Day is awesome. Have you heard all of their material? The Get Up Kids are good as well, but I like STD better.

Something To Write Home About is one my favorite CD's of all time. I cant see how someone could not like "I'll Catch You"

on a wire is a great record. oh and btw, I love Saves the Day and The Get Up Kids

Saves The Day are my favorite band.
I'm neutral towards the get-up kids.

Exactly the way I feel. But I do like TGUKs. Have all of their cd's my favorite being Four Minute Mile with On a Wire close behind.

TGUK are my 2nd favorite band
STD are like 4 or 5.
"Something to Write Home About", "Four Minute Mile" and "Stay What You Are" changed my life.

I didn't like either the Get Up Kids or Saves the Day very much either when I first listened to them. But at that point in my life I was really used to very slickly-produced pop-oriented music, even if it was part of the "punk scene" (i.e. "Bleed American"). As I grew a little bit, I came to love both of these groups, especially TGUK, and their albums now carry a lot of meaning for me. I'm not sure what "Eudora" is exactly since it shares a lot of songs with "Something to Write Home About," but that's always been my favorite TGUK album.
