Brand New Lyric Deciphering Thread

This thread goes out to attempting to explain the lyrics of brand new songs. Mostly from Devil and God

I'm not sure if this was done before but after all it is almost winter time so this cd is back in the car. Jesse Lacey is a lyrical god although the truth sometimes I just can't decipher what some of the songs even mean as a whole- care to help?

hes amazingly good at one-liners, but the messages and contexts are pretty simple and direct, his lyrics contain solidity but not too much depth.

The vocal minority detest them because, face it, they're sick of hearing about it. And can you blame them with all of the users ignoring the rules and straying from the official threads?

Your inability to use a search function and continuation of the annoying trend of humping Jesse Lacey's leg is the main reason you're getting snark.

its not hate for brand new, they are a favorite band for posters like myself and chromefox. we're calling you out on making a topic-specific thread on a band that already has an official thread, with over 1,000 posts left to discuss these kinds of things. the reason the official threads were created in the first place are for organization on this site -- when threads like this are created they all turn into the same general rambling and discussion about the same band. theres already discussion on the meaning and interpretation of lyrics off and on throughout every other thread about brand new. and taht creates a lot of unnecessary clutter on this page, which can get especially annoying to posters who dont care for the band. we're supposed to discuss all forms of music here, this isnt brand new's street team forum.

and also try not to sound so assumptive and overbearing with your praise of brand new. there are plenty other bands out there who are good at what they do, im not saying you cant have opinoins on this band but be a little more reserved with them so you dont have other people who don't like the band attacking you. it creates a bad impression.

i answered this about as nicely and patiently as you could ever get on this site, btw. this has been done to death on this site.
