Pitchfork (http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/)'s favorite single of last year is finally being released as an actual single: Annie (http://www.anniemusic.co.uk/)'s "Heartbeat" comes out February 28 and is packed full of remixes. Her critically acclaimed debut album Anniemal is also finally reaching the US; pick that up on March 7.

i remember after reading the pitchfork best singles and albums of 2004 i decided to check out what all the fuss was about over annie. well, she is hot, and has catchy pop songs. i downloaded her album from soulseek to check it out, and at first i was iffy on it. sure it is fun and catchy, but it is redundent.
