Armor For Sleep (new cd)

Along with the HIPV post, can anyone give me some insight on this new AFS cd? I like their last one, and was wondering if this would be more or less the same. Thanks.

I haven't heard the whole album yet, but the few track I've heard here and there are great. I'd say it's worth checking out.

I purchased the new AfS cd yesterday from Best Buy and although I only heard it twice (rough day at work) I believe it is indeed a good cd (bordering on great). Ben's voice sounds so much better than their first offering but I still believe that the songs from Dream to make believe are more contagious. Still the music (instrumentation) on this one is a whole lot better. I think Machine did a great job with the band and they sound really good. I still can't say I like the old one better because I still need to give it more spins. But from what I have heard, it's a great cd! So buy it! (it also comes with a DVD which I have not seen yet! :( ).

BTW, I bought Bright Eyes - I'm wide awake, it's morning also and this one, although some songs sound like usual folk-country music, it's indeed a great cd! Love Lua! :p

seems they've become more experimental for them anyway on this record. i love it. every song theyve written ive atleast liked. and most ive loved. one of my current favorite bands. i definitely recommend the new one.

I got it last night at the record release show and have listened to it about four times through. In my opinion it is better than the first cd. His voice sounds so much more dynamic and the music is more captiviating.

i know Fuse is playing a commercial about the album and it had part of the Car Underwater video

i dont think its on Launch, so id look on the Fuse site and see if its on there

i just don't find it as appealing as dream... it stood out alot more for me. i guess it has to grow on me. i really like car underwater though.

I've had this Cd for long enough to make the judgement that the first CD was better. I think I was just let down because of all the hype. I think that Dreams had more personal significance so I could be bias. I dunno though, it was way overhyped.

Well, I somewhat agree with your statement as I think the old songs are more contagious but this is a very good album. I heard them live yesterday and they sounded hot!
So give it a few spins. It will definitely grow on you!

I went to get this Tuesday when it came out. The three local indie stores in my area didn't get it in, FYE didn't get it in, Best Buy and Circuit City didn't get it in...Equal Vision must have terrible distribution in Tennessee...

I agree. It is a lot better than the first. I didn't really like the first one. I thought it was pretty boring. But this is so much better. Its simple yet very catchy and dark.

if you bought the cd, rewind it before the first track starts. theres a hidden opener. it's pretty sweet. i'm sure a lot of you knew that though. i love the cd personally. when it finishes i feel this sense of satisfaction. i can't say i like it more then "a dream to make believe". it's too different. i love them both. peace out.

It's just "filler" material. But at least it came with the music videos of My Town and Dream to make believe (I didn't have them!).

I wish they could've done a dvd like Sum 41's Does This Look Infected. That DVD was funny, and it had boobs. That's all that matters.
