I absolutely loved this movie. It's a Korean film...if you're a fan of Tim Burton-esque dark-yet-colorful/playful movies with some sweet visuals, you'll really enjoy it.

It's by Park Chan-wook, who did Oldboy, Sympathy for Lady Vengeance, Joint Security Area, which are all critically acclaimed films.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0497137/

Synopsis:
"The film takes place in a mental institution. Young-goon, a young woman who believes herself to be a cyborg, refuses to eat and instead administers electric shocks to herself. Il-sun, a young male patient hospitalized for anti-social behaviour and schizophrenia, who believes he can take other peoples souls, befriends Young-goon. After Young-goon is given shock treatment, she believes that she has been recharged and fantasizes about killing the hospital staff who had previously taken her mentally-ill grandmother away."

Has anyone checked this film out? What did you think?
/if you want to, you should either rent it/torrent it.

I have this movie on my computer but have not yet watched it. I keep meaning to but I need to find a time when I can really sit down and read the subtitles. Chan-Wook Park is amazing, though.

I wish Tartan wouldn't have shut down so we would have gotten a DVD release in the states.

Yeah..this movie would probably do pretty good here if it was released, considering Oldboy is such a favorite of so many people.

oldboy was good. i didn't dig the whole incest thing, but that one continuous shot where he kicks 30 dude's asses in that hallway ruled.

Unfortunately I downloaded it, because I couldn't find a physical copy. I could PM you a link to the torrent, if you can't find it and are interested.

/off topic I feel I might have to do this with the movie Let The Right One in. It's only being released in like 20 theatres across the states...I'm kind of pissed off because it looks like a damn good vampire flick for a change. (I don't think I've seen a decent one besides Intervier with a Vampire...even though 30 Days of Night was aight)

watch lost boys....best vampire movie ever!

and Let the Right One in, does look really good. It looks more atmospheric and less cheap scares...which is good..

One of my favorite directors. I loved the trilogy and loved JSA. I still have not seen Cyborg yet but I'll definitely check it out.

Another great great Korean director: Joon Ho-Bong
Most recently he did the greatest monster movie since Jaws; The Host. The movie before that that he directed is one of my favorite movies of all time.. Memories of Murder. YOU GUYS HAVE TO CHECK THIS MOVIE OUT, IT'S ZODIAC WITH A SHOT OF AWESOME.

The Blu-ray import of this is impossible to find.

Also, I find it odd that this movie isn't listed on Netflix.
