Inspired by the Random Entertainment poll. Who else loves those yellow subtitles? :-d

Has anyone else seen Turtles Can Fly?

Probably the only Iranian film I've seen, and I loved it.

Tokyo Story
Rules of the Game
La Dolce Vita
Stolen Kisses
A Woman Is a Woman

Off the top of my head, those are my top 5 favorite foreign classics (additionally, I think Rules of the Game is the best film ever made).

Speaking of shitty yellow subtitles.

How about those awful moving subtitles. Its bad enough having to read and watch, but having to perdict the movement of the words too. Fuck that, I couldn't even give Nightwatch a chance because of this.

I love the yellow subtitles! I get irritated when they're white instead.

Has anyone seen 'The Good, The Bad, The Weird' ? It's such a good action film entertaining from beginning to end. I highly recommend.

The most entertaining movie I've seen all year next to TDK.

I'm just now starting to broaden my movie horizons, so I haven't seen that many foreign movies yet, but The 400 Blows is great. I've got Seven Samurai and Rashomon coming on my Netflix fairly soon as well.

I think you are the only person in the entire world who likes the yellow ones over the white ones.

Hahaha... I was checking my old threads and just read this for the first time. I think it might be because I've grown up always seeing foreign movies with the yellow subtitles, so they're endearing to me. When they started to make more movies with white ones, or rather I watched movies with white ones, it threw me off. I have it engraved in my brain that yellow is what it is supposed to be, but of course, I do understand that some movies benefit more from the white ones.

I actually recently edited a short movie for a youth group I teach. They spoke in Spanish and I added the yellow subtitles, haha.
