The Rocket Summer (http://www.purevolume.com/therocketsummer)- Bryce Avery is definitely one of the best pop-rock songwriters around and his voice is really special. If you liked Calendar Days you are going to love the new album; he has really taken his music a step up.
The Academy Is... (http://www.purevolume.com/theacademyis)- If you read my review of their debut album, Almost Here, you already know how much I enjoy it. Seriously, put it in your car, learn the words, and you will be screaming at the top of your lungs while driving, or maybe I’m the only loser that does that. Either way, great album.
Recover (http://www.purevolume.com/recover)- I had the pleasure of seeing them the other night with Say Anything (http://www.sayanythingmusic.com/) and Armor For Sleep (http://www.armorforsleep.com/) and they were great. Their music sounded even better live and gave me a whole new appreciation for their band and their excellent album, This May Be the Year I Disappear.
Feeling Left Out (http://www.purevolume.com/feelingleftout)- Still my favorite acoustic band in the world. Full or pure, simple, sincere emotion that has touched my heart over and over again. Their songs have a way of sticking to a certain situation in your life, and because of this they have become so meaningful to me. New demos will be up soon and they should be superb.
Umbrellas (http://www.purevolume.com/umbrellas)- Scott Windsor, the singer from The Lyndsay Diaries (http://www.purevolume.com/thelyndsaydiaries) now has a full band, and I’m not sure how I feel about the album yet, but I am sure that it is truly beautiful. Recommended for fans of Copeland (http://www.purevolume.com/copeland).
Jets to Brazil (http://www.jadetree.com/bands/artist/jets_to_brazil)- I was listening to Perfecting Loneliness this past week and just loving it, so I thought I’d throw this rec. up for anyone who doesn’t know about them.

I hadn't actually listened to The Rocket Summer until now. Heard of him/them, but never gave it a listen.
All I can say is: wow. So catchy it's crazy. I need to get Calendar Days now.

further north, chinatown and air traffic control are the best off their respected jets to brazil albums. the academy is...a pretty sound that doesn't stick very long, but not bad until there's new FOB. i've heard about feeling left out, because they used to play with blindluckmusic, a band from around my area. even though they broke up, check out blindluckmusic.

I can't wait to hear the new Rocket Summer... When can we hear new stuff?
Recover is absolutely incredible... I missed the concert in NY but my brother saw it and was upset that they didn't play "Big Choruses"... Did they play that anywhere else?
