Nothing about them is similar. I wouldn't compare them.

This is true, it is an unfair comparasion, but i really dislike Justin Timberlake. James Taylor is mildly entertaining.

Justin Timberlake puts out top of the line mainstream pop music. James Taylor while not quite up their with the great songwriters, has the single most comforting voice ever.

Haha that is a bold claim, but his voice definitely adds to the appeal of his music. Well, i would say that the quality of mainstream pop music is questionable as it is, but overall i'm just being biast because i really can't stand Justin Timberlake at all. He's good at what he does i suppose.

From everything I've come across, also a true claim.

It generally is, but if anything, I'd say I'm doing a disservice to FutureSex/LoveSounds by classifying it like that. A track or two are disposable but the rest are flat out good songs.

Hmm. Well to each his own. I just can't get into that music.
i'm bumping this in hopes that there is infact another person who loves jt on here

Ok, fine, I like James Taylor. "Copperline" is probably in my top...100 of all time? Maybe? haha
I once heard that James Taylor absolutely demands perfection from his band. Like, if they screw something up in a live show, they're done, and also he will kill them. Which seems to work, because I saw a James Taylor DVD once, and it was absolutely flawless.
Hmm...Geese in flight, and dogs that bite.

Some of my favorite songs of all time come from him. GREAT musician. I actually have a lot of memories listening to his music when I was a little kid. It makes me sad.

Uploading self titled and greatest hits volume 2 right now. Seems like good rainy day music
Love James Taylor, consistently one of the best vocalists in music. The man has kept that great of a voice all this time, that's what I like about him. Never went out and tore up his voice. That Covers album was pretty bad, though.

I think about this all the time, and i have yet to hear an artist beat James Taylor. Nick Drake is close.

Damn I'm liking this stuff. I personally find Ben Folds voice pretty comforting
My parents listened to this guy a ton when I was younger. Has such a special place in my heart that I bought his Greatest Hits for myself! :)

Heard Never Die Young today and was really pleasantly surprised with how well he eased into the late 80's. Great stuff.
