1. What the hell is the deal with the private profile? What do you have to hide John?!
2. You always have lots of depressing stories to tell, but you also always seem to be upbeat and one of the nicest people on this site, how do you stay so posi?
3. Me and a friend were having a conversation about Crime In Stereo today, think they’ll ever become bigger than they currently are? I think they could have made …Is dead a little bit catchier, perhaps next album?
4. Tell me about Seton Hall, a lot of people hate their Freshman year roommates or at least pretend to, do you like them? Do they treat you well?
5. It always seemed you were kind of a big man on campus at your High School, how has it been transitioning to little fish in a big pond? Would this question be less confusing if I wasn’t mixing metaphors?
6. I know you post in other forums on this site and I try not to judge you for it as much as possible, but seriously, why? You know this is the best one and it almost makes me a little jealous to know that you’re not fully ours. What the hell, John? I want to know your feelings on my disappointment.
7. When you first started jacking off, did you notice that your cum had a smell to it? Hasn’t that smell kind of gone away as you grow older? Do you think that’s because you’ve gotten used to it or because it doesn’t smell anymore? If it’s because you’ve gotten used to it doesn’t that make you feel kind of self-conscious?
8. Who’s your favorite cokehead baseball player of the 80s?
9. Will Crime In Stereo ever write a song better than For Exes?
10. If you had to pick one thing to disappear past, present and future what would it be, CBS comedies or Martin Short?I love you, Doug.

Oh go write a piece about it for your school newspaper and hold a rally in the quad. You're fucking right this was a bait job, it was written to make fun of Floyd and Floyd alone, but everyone is like "OmG hE waS goNNa geT banNed no matter what!?!?!!?". I know Floyd and I expected him to say I was a piece of shit and and assbag and other things, but I don't think anybody expected him to use slurs, especially not me. I really didn't have a choice after that. He could have said ANYTHING but stuff like that considering the circumstances, period.
HAHA the drama with Pierce was hilarious.
All these made me die as well:

Alright Pat,
If I get fired for doing this while at work, you have to pay my bills for me, and not with your crazy Canadian Loonies, I'm talking with real 'Merican money.
-I know you're from Quebec, so what's the deal with the whole language thing there? You don't seem like the kind of guy who would speak French, but I know most of the province does. If you do, say something French. If you don't, are there people that you just basically can't communicate with?

Alright Pat,
If I get fired for doing this while at work, you have to pay my bills for me, and not with your crazy Canadian Loonies, I'm talking with real 'Merican money.
-I know you're from Quebec, so what's the deal with the whole language thing there? You don't seem like the kind of guy who would speak French, but I know most of the province does. If you do, say something French. If you don't, are there people that you just basically can't communicate with?
I'm 100% bilingual because they force it on you as a child. Up until grade 3, your schooling is 100% french, then beyond that it becomes 50/50. I'm from a very Anglophone, suburban area on the island on Montreal, so when I tell people I'm from Montreal, they're extremely confused as to why I don't have an accent at all. Salut Doug, j'apprecis que t'a pris le temps de composer ces questions. c'est tres gentil de toi. (hi doug, i appreciate you taking the time to make these questions. its very nice of you)
-Do you still work at Best Buy? Explain.
I do and I hate it. Despite getting some sweet deals on some Blu-rays, amongst other things, they're way too obsessed with numbers (ie: service plan, geek squad) rather than giving a shit about their employees. Also, a lot of my better friends have been quitting so going to work is definitely a chore. Thankfully I'm almost done my degree.
-What's your favorite line from any movie ever?
I'm not a huge quote/lyric guy personally, but I'm just going to go with the entire script of Dumb & Dumber. I can recite the entire movie, and it's really annoying to person I watch it with.
-If you could be any character from any television show ever, who would it be and why?
Gob Bluth, who wouldn't wanted to be a magician, drive a segway and basically get my entire life paid for COME ON
-You kinda came to the party late, out of any Sports Forum "legend," what do you feel like you missed out on the most?
I feel like I missed out on probably the best times around here, and a lot of retired posters like mikeford jetsstolehome etc. especially looking at all the recent 5-7 year old bumps, it seemed like there was a lot more fun around here, but I came towards the end of the fun I believe so I'm at least fortunate for that.
-What brought you to the site/forum?
I always listened to the music that everyone here listened to and all the news was here. I always came to this site for news and never thought about the possibly of posting on a message board. well 15,000 posts later, here i am. I love this place, regardless of the slow pace of the forum.
-Myself excluded, if you had to snuggle with anyone from the sports forum, who would it be? Just a name, no explanation please.
BigMike. It's cold in our igloos up here, I need some warmth!
-Explain poutine and why I should have it at some point in my life.
Poutine is fries, topped with curd cheese and gravy. I'm not the biggest fan, because I'd like to think of myself as a healthy eater, but once in a while at like 3 am after beers, it's great. You should give it a chance sometime in your life if you have the opportunity
-Why do you think I have so few posts compared to everyone else? I feel like people disappear into NHL and NCAA Basketball threads and come back out with 10,000 posts.
Well I actually I noticed that in the past year, you've posted a lot more. Before if I recall, all you really did was post about the Red Sox and in the fantasy threads. I think that with you touring less now, you have more free time and that's where AP really shines. It's a time killer.
-If you were to visit Wassau, describe your perfect three day weekend spent with one Drew Beringer.
I would obviously bring him to the local best buy and let him use my Best Buy discount on the new Skylit Drive disc and Beauty on the Beast on Blu Ray. He would then drag me into the nearest foot locker to take advantage of the awesome 2 for 30 basketball shorts promotion! During all this mall time, we would be tweeting back and forth on our respective iPhones and posting pictures of people wearing CC Sabathia Brewers jersey tees and say HEY I HAVE THAT TOO GUYS!!! Unfortunately we run into Brett Favre at the mall, and Drew then ripped off his AA sweater to show that he is still wearing his Favre #4. I then leave in disgust.
Thanks Doug, that was fun

It's funny because I figured he would speak French being from Quebec, but he just doesn't look or act like he would, if that makes any sense? Haha.
yeah I am. Strangely enough, I became way more fluent in french from working in retail for like 7 years rather than all the schooling. I'm also better at French that the majority of my friends for some reason. I really dislike using the French language especially since people come into Best Buy and automatically speaks French hoping for someone to accommodate them. its also very annoying because everyone at work knows i speak french so they come and find me to help their french customers all over the store, because no one else can't.
A lot of my francophone friends and I have a funny relationship. I talk to them in english and they talk to me back in french. it's pretty funny.

-Living in Orange County, what is your general feeling about Disneyland? Do you have a favorite ride? A favorite experience? I'm a big fan of Disneyland.
-Marion Butts, Natrone Means or Leonard Russell?
-When Junior Seau played for the Patriots, I saw him twice in Boston, once coming out of a club and once with his son in a Hot Dog Restaurant. Which would you rather do with Junior Seau, eat hot dogs or go clubbing?
-Explain a regular day in the life of Ryan and his bros.
-What's the most mad you've ever been specifically relating to the sports forum. I'm not even saying it has to be you being that extraordinarily mad, I'm just asking what the most mad you've ever been was.
-Have you ever had a diary or a journal?
-You have your twitter protected, what's the best thing you've ever tweeted? Mine would have to be "Your mom is so dumb she thinks that happiness is a mat that sits on her doorway." beat that.
-Living in California, would you ever live anywhere else? Could it get better?
-What's your favorite 90s kids sports movie?
-If Drew came out to "the OC" to hang with you and your friends, how would that go?

-What's your favorite piece of clothing you've ever owned? I think I recently discovered mine is probably a Curtis Martin jersey I had in 1996.

-Who's your favorite Panthers player ever?

-I'm currently at work and just walked by an open bag of goldfish and didn't have any. That's the first time that's ever happened in my life, what's your favorite cheese flavored snack?
-Do you go to school? Have a job? What's your deal?

Would you try to catch a gazzelle or just eat some grass and stuff? Would you have sex with a female lion? Would you feel weird about it afterwards? Would you tell your friends about your experience? -What's the most embarrassing thing you've ever done to impress a girl? Or better yet, what's the most embarrassing you will ever do to impress a girl? This is a tough one because I never really have to do much, they're usually so impressed already. The only dumb thing I can think of was one time Freshman year there was a girl I was talking to, and she was really sick two days before a big exam. She was upset that she didn't have the strength to organize all her work in time to study for it, so I got her books from her roommate and made her a study guide with notecards and stuff and left it under her door that night. Besides the fact that her pants dropped immediately after that, my friends made fun of me for a bit and such. I'm not the type to normally do anything overly impressive for a girl unless I legitimately like her, so that might be the height of my idiocy.
-What's the deal with NFL players and dreadlocks? Most people cut their hair or change their hairstyle upwards of 50 times during the course of an NFL career, but not them? Shouldn't they get sick of them at some point? It doesn't seem like the easiest hairstyle to keep up.I had a discussion with a friend of mine about this earlier in the season. If I were a player, personally, I would drag those guys down buy their dreads. If they want to rock the dreads, they should pay the consequences....getting tackled by the hair. My friend's theory is that the dreads have some sort of mysterious power that helps them play better and if they were to chop them off, their talent would be gone. He's kind of a nut, but it's an interesting theory.
-What's the most embarrassing movie you've ever watched with your mom? Mine would have to be either "Monster" or "Brokeback Mountain"True Lies. The scene where Jamie Lee Curtis gives Arnold Schwarzenegger a lapdance was absolutely painful to watch. We just sucked it up, didn't make eye contact, and got through it. It didn't help that the movie sucked anyway.
-Who do you feel you "know" the best from the sports forum?I would say probably Matt (CarlosLunes). He's the only person I've met more than once from this website, and even though you guys have all been a pretty unexpected influence on my life, Matt has been the biggest. Whenever I needed advice or was in a rut over something, Matt always smacked me upside the head and told me what to do. Plus he's hooked me up with some good shows and stuff. I've gotten to know him pretty well over the last five years or so (no homo that entire answer).
-If you were a professional wrestler, what would your nickname be? May I suggest the Staten Island Ferry? That's a very appropriate nickname. The Staten Island Ferry. I like that. Although usually that's what we call tramps...it's free and everyone gets a ride. I'd have to think long and hard (nh) about that one.
-What percentage of your graduating class has gone on to become guidos?Let's see...I graduated with 276 boys, most of whom were already transforming into guidos while we were still in high school, but some of which also reverted back to normalcy, so that's a rough one. If I went through my Facebook, I could probably find about 15-20 serious guidos, and then about 20 more half guidos. If I had to guess a percentage, close to 10% give or take a few.
-What are your hopes and dreams?I'm a pretty confident person, I would say, and I think if I truly want to do something I will try my hardest to get there some day. I love to write and besides the school newspaper I recently started becoming a contributing writer of the SHU basketball blog at SBNation, so I'm getting more practice there. I'm also a DJ and a sports broadcaster at my school's radio station (89.5 FM WSOU), so that's a field I'm getting into. I feel like my dream would be to be a sports writer for a newspaper or just to be involved in any kind of sports radio broadcasting. I understand every 15-20 year old kid has that dream and in our society where jobs (especially in the media business) are becoming scarce, so maybe it will be that much harder, but I'm confident enough in myself that if I work hard enough that I can some day work in a field that I love. I see too many people (especially in my family) commit to a job that they will make a decent amount of money but can't ever be happy because they hate it so much. If I had to break it down simply, my dream is to work in a job I really love, have a nice family, and remain healthy.
-If you could pick any female actress to play you in a biopic, who would it be and why?Rosie O'Donnell might be the most appropriate choice here, but because Natalie Portman is so hot I'm going to go with her.
-If you could buy Drew any Blu Ray OR any player tee, what would it be? Would you pick the player tee or the blu ray? Why? Describe your range of emotions. This is the toughest one. Is there a chance I could buy both? Alright, if I had to pick one, then I would buy Drew a Derrick Turnbow player tee. I understand that Blu Ray is the ULTIMATE movie watching experience, but in the end you can't turn down the chance to rock a Derrick Turnbow player tee. It was an emotional decision for me because, like I said, I understand the vitality of the Blu Ray experience but I think a Turnbow player tee would be a nice addition to Drew's collection.
-You're at a 7-11 at 2 in the morning and you're about to go to Mike Ford's mom's house to play video games and watch Major League (I've been in this exact situation before), what do you buy for snacks?I would grab some Natty, some Clam Chowder (to stick our dicks in of course), and a bag of Spicy Sweet Chili Doritos. Does that not sound like the perfect night? Well, it is.

the funny thing about that answer is that i almost asked you what your favorite quote from dumb and dumber was.
what a solid movie.
I can't believe I didn't ask you ten questions the first time around, here we go though.
-Living in Orange County, what is your general feeling about Disneyland? Do you have a favorite ride? A favorite experience? I'm a big fan of Disneyland. My family used to have season passes but I haven't been in almost 8 years. It's about a $300 day if you take a girl to Disneyland/California Adventure so it's not cheap by any means. Favorite ride is Pirates of the Carribean. Favorite Disney experience was when they sold the Angels and we were relieved of those shitty ass uniforms and hats.
-Marion Butts, Natrone Means or Leonard Russell? Natrone Means Business
-When Junior Seau played for the Patriots, I saw him twice in Boston, once coming out of a club and once with his son in a Hot Dog Restaurant. Which would you rather do with Junior Seau, eat hot dogs or go clubbing? Bottle service at XS in Vegas but he can't drive home late night. We know how that will end up.
-Explain a regular day in the life of Ryan and his bros. Weekdays: Work for 9 hours, come home, cook dinner, play fifa/watch sports/tv, smoke a little weed, have a beer, go to sleep. Weekends: wake up at noon, go play soccer for an hour or two, watch football, smoke more weed, nap, hit the bars, take at least 8 jaegerbombs (false, i dont drink liquor anymore my hangovers are too wicked these days), hopefully find a slampiece. Repeat the next day.
-What's the most mad you've ever been specifically relating to the sports forum. I'm not even saying it has to be you being that extraordinarily mad, I'm just asking what the most mad you've ever been was. Matt used to piss me off a lot back in the day. Other than that the only thing ever agitates me is Drew being a complete fuckhead during his team's games.
-Have you ever had a diary or a journal? Twitter is the closest thing I have to a journal.
-You have your twitter protected, what's the best thing you've ever tweeted? Mine would have to be "Your mom is so dumb she thinks that happiness is a mat that sits on her doorway." beat that. Probably quotes I tweet from my customers. Most of Americans are fucking retarded.
-Living in California, would you ever live anywhere else? Could it get better? Born in Orange County, school in LA, work in Santa Monica, live in Manhattan Beach. Can't get much better. The weather is good 300 days of the year and the women, although some fake, are phenomenal.
-What's your favorite 90s kids sports movie? The Sandlot
-If Drew came out to "the OC" to hang with you and your friends, how would that go? We'd probably hit the American Apparel store first and pick up yellow hoodies then go to In N Out and listen to him talk about how much better it is then Jimmy Johns. After In N Out we'd go to Chain Reaction in Anaheim to go see Bane and Drew would tweet every song they played and to end the night we'd go watch the Packers play in the NFC title game, only to lose and Drew get his ass kicked by a bunch of flat brimmed hat wearing dirtbiking bros for being too loud. Then he'd send a good night text to @katievater and we'd finish the night with a blu-ray. Probably Scott Pilgrim.
good questions. thanks, doug.

No? What happened?
Neighbors called the cops complaining about all the cars parked in the area. Cops showed up shortly after doors saying they would shut down the show if anymore people were let in, so 100-200 people with tickets were turned away. The people running the doors decided to let "only people who traveled far to get to the show" inside, while being complete power trip douchebags to the hundreds of people trying to figure out what was going on.
Crime in Stereo decided right away they would have to play another show.
People were actually watching the show through the windows.
What sucked was that people bought tickets at the door and got in, while people with paid tickets were turned away just because they showed up later.

-Describe the last year and a half of your life since I last asked you these questions.
Its been over two years, and shit changed a lot. I wasnt aware at the time that there was a baby on the way when i answered the questions. I answered that i wasnt ready for marriage and kids and shit, and now i have a 20 month old daughter and another baby coming in june. Still not ready for marriage yet though. Not up for that type of commitment.
-Who's the one athlete that you feel like you can't really discuss rationally, for me it's Griffey.
Not sure. At first id say hines or bettis. But after thinking about it more, its easily bonds. I dont care about all the extra shit, hes my favorite baseball player ever, and the best ill ever see.
-What do you do as soon as you get home from work? As much as I tell myself I'm not going to, the first thing i do as soon as I get home is take my pants off, even if i'm going out again in like, 15 minutes.
It used to be take off my pants. Now its usually sit on the floor and play with my daughter for a while.
-What's your favorite chain restaurant?
Not sure. Most of my favorite places are local places. But if i had to pick, id say smokey bones. Not sure how far they go though, so my more well known answer would br chilis.
-Why Pittsburgh teams and not Cleveland?
Honestly, i grew up a fan of pittsburgh teams, even though i grew up in indiana. I cant explain how, i just know ive loved the steeler for as long as i can remember. I grew up loving the pirates, steelers and pens. I became a cavs fan shortly after moving here.
-Kordell Stewart, thoughts?
I always liked him. He gets a lot of shit, but did a lot of good things. He was just ahead of his time.
-Are you happy with your username, if you could change it, would it? What would you change it to?
Im happy with it. I use this name for a lot of things. Ive always liked it. If i were to change it though, itd be to something super lame like UnitedByDave.
-Who do you hate the most on this site?
All time? Still life, easily. Currently, probably doodoobird. But there are a lot. Ive always hated rock too.
-What's the think you hate the most in a given day? Mine would either be rushing somewhere or traffic.
Probably work in general. Its an hour drive each way and its just not nearly enjoyable as it used to be. Its just annoying at this point.

-If the Yankees gave you $35 million dollars instead of Soriano, what would you do with it that would equal the waste it is to give that much money to a glorified middle reliever?
-What's the latest graphic tee you bought? Be honest.
-Do your IRL friends know that at one point in time a lot of people called you Floyd?

-OJ McDuffie, discuss. I loved him. i was kind of young when he was in his prime, but he was the man. Marino's favorite WR for a few years.
-Do your parents still live in the house you grew up in? If so, what's the weirdest thing about being there/being in the town you grew up in? my mom and sister still live in the house, yea. its just weird being back some weekends or whatever and going out and seeing the kids i went to middle school and high school with. i just hate forcing conversations like that, its always awkward
-What's your favorite part about your job? probably that its not too stressful/draining. i work at an engineering and consulting firm and im either at my computer all day or in the field doing inspections and finishing early.
-If the Yankees gave you $35 million dollars instead of Soriano, what would you do with it that would equal the waste it is to give that much money to a glorified middle reliever? hahaha i would probably pay off everything i have and pay off everything for my mom and sister. then i would buy a place in NYC, Florida, and Cali as well as season tickets for all of my favorite teams.
-What's the latest graphic tee you bought? Be honest. LOL probably a Nova basketball T shirt at old navy, i had no idea they sold NCAA stuff there
-Do your IRL friends know that at one point in time a lot of people called you Floyd? nah, i dont think so. although ive met some people from the site at Devils games (perry aka dont you move, beth and laura mostly from the NHL threads, etc.) and when im with my real life friends at the game and the AP friends call me floyd, i can tell they give a double take but i never really had to explain it.
-I don't know your current relationship status, I'm sorry, but if you are dating someone, what do they think of you posting on this site, if not, what did the last gf (or bf I'm not judging) think of you posting on this site? i have a girlfriend now...she knows i post on the site, but i think she thinks its only for the sole reason of being in the Xbox 360 madden league. she doesnt really mind but sometimes she reads some of the rants in there (mostly by MHT mike) and she laughs
-If shit went down and you wound up homeless, would you just choose to live on your own on the streets or would you stay in a homeless shelter? I would definitely just chill on my own, I'd totally judge all the other homeless people and not want to hear their crazy stories. I'm not really sure, to be honest. im inclined to say i would wander around during the daytime but when it came down to it, id have to sleep in a shelter. i cant imagine what it would be like to sleep on the street or sidewalk in the middle of jan. or feb.
-Is it just me or do white homeless people act 10x crazier than black homeless people? some act crazy, some don't. not really specific to race, but i get why you asked this lol
-Drew wants you and just you to come hang out with him and his family for his birthday. You'd obviously be pretty pissed you had to drop so much money to go out to Wisconsin and buy him presents and stuff, but do you think you'd have fun still? I think we'd be able to have fun. although id stay away from going to games of his favorite teams because then i'd have to listen to him whining about how much he hates mike mccarthy or how randy wolf should jump off a bridge or something. at first that would probably be funny, but after awhile i would want to kill myself.

-You guys and your private profiles, your name's Corey, right? ASL? Pic?
Yeah, my name's Corey. 20/m/Maryland. I have a profile picture posted on here.
-Why the Panthers and not the Ravens?
I have relatives in North Carolina and the first NFL game I went to was Redskins-Panthers at Ericsson Stadium when I was 7 and I've been a fan since then. I've always kind of like the Ravens since I watch them a lot but I'm not really a fan.
-Were you kind of pissed that you wound up with Kerry Collins, while the Jaguars wound up with Mark Brunell?
I was only five when that happened but in retrospect, yes. Collins had one playoff run with Carolina, got arrested and then took the Giants to the Super Bowl three years later. What an asshole. Brunell's always been one of my favorite players for some reason.
-Who's your favorite Panthers player ever?
Muhsin Muhammad
-Who would win in a Panthers-off you or Tyler Vayglerlhlgahlalga
Probably him since he lives closer to the team and gets more coverage on them. I tend to lose touch with football during the off-season months and focus on hockey.
-I'm currently at work and just walked by an open bag of goldfish and didn't have any. That's the first time that's ever happened in my life, what's your favorite cheese flavored snack?
Cheez-Its. That's an easy one.
-Do you go to school? Have a job? What's your deal?
I'm a sophomore at college now and work at a party store during the summer. Looking for a different job this year, though. I'm on winter break so I have a ton of spare time now.
-If you woke up tomorrow and discovered you were a lion, and realized it was only for one day and you were like, in Africa and stuff. What would you eat? Would you try to catch a gazzelle or just eat some grass and stuff? Would you have sex with a female lion? Would you feel weird about it afterwards? Would you tell your friends about your experience? Would they believe you?
There is no way to answer this question without sounding weird. I'd probably chase down a gazelle or something for prey because I like the challenge and it's probably more rewarding than eating grass. I wouldn't have sex with a female lion because that would be weird to think about after I turn back into a human. At first, I would keep it a secret but then I'll remember how awesome it was being a lion and tell them about it, they would think I'm full of shit.
-Who's your favorite comedic actor?
I'm more of a horror movie fan so I don't watch a lot of comedies. I like most movies that Vince Vaughn's in though.
-If Drew walked through the door of whatever room you're in right now, describe your reaction to that hypothetical situation.
I would turn on MASN and wait for a replay of an Orioles game from the last 10 seasons to come on and tell him "this is what a really bad team looks like." Then we'd probably talk about music or something.

Would they believe you?haha, how did I miss this question, that is spectacular

whenever i see someone i went to high school with i just try my hardest not to make eye contact and get away from the situation as fast as possible. just the other day i saw some kid i went to high school with working at a grocery store and i had to pretend to be looking at oreos for like 5 minutes to make sure he got away. i didn't even dislike any of these people while in school, i just know i don't have shit to say to them now.

Some of my close friends I met in college, but three of my best friends are actually from high school. The odd part about my three closest friends in college is that one of them I went to HS with and the other two live on Staten Island, but I had never met before. It's just weird how things work out sometimes. Like...we all have mutual friends, yet we never were friends with each other. Life is weird like that.
Middle school people though? Hate it. Hate seeing them in the mall or grocery store.

Well, and the kids that stayed local in my area are one of two types of people: deadbeats who probably never made it to college...and athletes who weren't good enough to play D-1, but could be "stars" at local colleges and who still think that matters because their name is in the paper. Neither of which I hung out with in high school or could even stand to talk to now-a-days.
My hometown area sucks enough and the high school was good enough academically and athletically that if you could go somewhere a few hours away (to Philly, Pittsburgh, DC, NYC,etc), you got the fuck out of there. Hell, even the people who were kind of dumb but managed to get by still got out and went to PSU

-If you woke up one day and discovered you were invisible, but knew you could lose it at any minute, what would you do?
Fuck, this is a hard one. Part of me says I'd go into the oval office or Pentagon and see what they actually talk about all day. The other part of me wants to say I'd go find Natalie Portman and try to have sex with her...she'd be confused as hell as to why her clothing is magically coming off. I think either way, I'd end up in jail or dead.
edit: Beforehand though, I'd definitely rob a bank, hide the money, and slowly deposit into my account over time. Like a$200/wk allowance for the rest of my life
-What's the meanest thing you ever did as a kid?Me and my brother had those little hockey souvenir sticks you can buy at NHL/AHL games. He had a regular stick, I had a goalies stick...and we'd basically turn those little nerf balls into a hockey puck and play hockey in our rooms or the hallway. It'd always end in a fight somehow...and one day I snapped and took the plastic hockey stick and slammed it down across his wrist really fucking hard. Surprisingly I didn't break anything...I had major anger issues as a kid
-Tell me a typical day in the life of Peppyak.
-You seem to be around the site about as often as I am, how often are you posting or looking at the forum from your phone? These go together. Wake up 5 minutes before I have to leave, drive 1.5 miles to work, spend most of browsing the internet at work and occasionally editing video. I have 2 30" monitors, so I have tons of screen space to do both at the same time if I want. Then head home, watch the ESPN shows from 4:30-6ish (Rome, ATH, PTI), pick up my gf from the Metro, cook dinner, and then find a way to kill time (we have a bumper pool table, a Wii, etc). Its very boring compared to my weekends that I spend mostly kayaking
But, I never post from my phone, because this is my phone
http://z.about.com/d/cellphones/1/G/H/p/4/motorola-w315.jpgI can't even get picture messages on it.
-Why do you think you're so well liked around here?I came in knowing I didn't know very much about sports...so my first few months I spent most of my time looking up stats to back up every single post I made. So instead of people hating me at first and then warming up to me, I had credibility early. I'm also really good at blending into groups...my college friends were wildly different from my high school friends...and most of the people I know now (from kayaking) are in their 30's and married or have kids.
-What's the funniest thing that ever happened to you in college? My roommate inherited a liquor cabinet fall of my sophomore year. During the study days before finals, we had gotten rid of all the good stuff and were left with the ridiculous stuff. In this case, maple syrup whiskey. We played beer pong with whiskey infused jungle juice at a party for a few hours, somehow developed british accents, picked up a friend from their door and on the way back to the party, decided to race down a steep hill covered in ice, basically penguin sliding the whole way. I woke up the next morning and my roomate had a giant plastic candy cane he was sleeping with...he had somehow managed to rip a single candy cane from a chain of candy cane lights on the way home.
-What's the most irresponsible thing you ever spent money on?I'm a terrible impulse buyer. I could probably fill a closet with shit I bought that I didn't need and likely won't use...not sure I could name just one thing.
-Did your Dad ever have "the talk" with you? Mine didn't, but if your did, was it awkward like in American Pie?My dads the strong, silent type...so, I don't remember having the talk. If we did, I blocked it from my memory.
-If you could spend a week in any historical era, what would it be? Mine would either be Civil War America, or early 60s America, no need to suck up to me by agreeing though.Hands down the time of dinosaurs, just to see if living like Land Before Time/Jurassic Park is fun like I always thought it would be as a kid. If I had to go with a human time period, it'd be Prohibition era, because I think going to speakeasy's and talking like a gangster would be fun.
-If you had a million dollars, but could only spend it on Drew, what would you buy him? Either his own personal Jimmy Johns restaurant, or I'd hire a hit man and taxidermist to arrange for Mike McCarthy's head to be hung on his wall.

First, how was I not asked where I like to get a GREAT STEAK?
- Tell me about your teaching career, what's the best and worst parts about it?
For the most part, teaching is alright. I am still unsure about whether or not I want to do it full-time and what I'd like to teach. I enjoy the elementary school kids because there are less attitudes than you'd expect with a high school. The best part is probably around Christmas time because the kids are so happy and excited. Also, it is interested to listen to their perspective on their favorite teams. There are quite a few hot teachers in my school as well.
The worst part about it is probably the parents. There are too many that complain about their student not getting a certain grade when it really boils down to the parent not doing anything with the kid. My school tries to keep the parents involved pretty well, but too often there are parents who feel it is the state and teacher's problem to mold their kids correctly.
- What do you do for fun other than post here?
Probably no different than everyone else. I tend to attend a lot of sporting events, probably more than my bank account would like me to. Summer is filled Phillies games while my winter and spring consists of our Flyers season tickets. Drinking, partying, etc, but toned down from my early 20 days. I play beer league softball on a few teams during the summer and we haven't lost in 3 years. I also surf and goto the beach a lot on most days in the summer. Town is sort of boring until summer and then it is constantly 4 am nights with boating/fishing/surfing etc in the morning.
-If this is not your most visited website, what is?
Like the average American, probably facebook? I got away from it awhile and that was good. I don't go on it as often. Outside that, probably csnphilly.com or whatever.
-Do you feel like you would be different if you didn't grow up a Philly fan?
Well, it depends. I don't think I'd be much different living in Boston/NY, etc. To be honest, if I lived in Philly, I probably wouldn't even be as bad. Most of my frustration stems from my friends who are NY fans that tend to give me shit and it carries over to being pissed off about my teams choking. I know at times it makes me look selfish, but it really blows knowing you've had a number of more opportunities over other teams and you still do nothing with them.
Who is your single most hated Philly-area athlete of all time?
I know most of you probably want me to say TO, but that isn't true anymore. After it came out that McNabb seemed to cause a lot of drama too, I kind of changed my stance on how TO was here. I've never truly hated any Philly athlete enough to boo them at a game or whatever. I really could never stand Jose Mesa or Adam Eaton though. I'd usually just shut it off whenever they were pitching.
I guess if I have to go by team:
Eagles - Reno Mahe. Not really his fault, but more or less that for whatever reason, Andy Reid kept him on the roster for so long.
Phillies - listed above
Flyers - insert goalie who was awesome in regular season and blew in playoffs.
Sixers - Sammy DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
-If Andy Reid was fired, but you knew the Eagles wouldn't win a super bowl for at least 10 years, would you take that deal?
Well...wtf, it's been 50? Why not 60? In all seriousness, I understand that Reid does a lot of things right. I mean he's helped mentored what, 5 current NFL coaches? I think he knows how to put together a good roster and the front office does a pretty good job of knowing when to get rid of players. His in-game management is definitely a head scratcher though. I still stand by my opinion that his schemes really don't work come playoff time, hence why he is borderline above .500.
It does upset me that he gets a little stubborn and overlooks certain positions for years at a time.
I'd like him to get some new coordinators though that could offer a different voice outside of the Jim Johnson D and the Holmgren style WCO. I'm smart enough to know that Andy has coached this team through the best years, but he is only real comparisons are Buck Shaw and Greasy Neale. But the same style hasn't worked for 12 years in the playoffs, so it is hard to imagine it'll work in the next 10.
That being said, knowing they won't win for 10 years, it is still the better option to have Reid and hopefully luck on his side.
-Seriously, why do we all still keep coming back here?
To be honest, most of us have discussed sports here for awhile and regardless of the characters here, it is still quick place to get news and so on. The shit doesn't get flooded by morons like your average sport site. Also, with the general thread, you get to discuss things with people outside of sports. You also get a perspective of somewhat level-headed people from different sports towns. There will be a few times when I've said "well my friend from (insert city) had this to say" when talking to my friends and it would be referencing someone from here.
What's the most ridiculous thing you've ever been banned for?
I think when VCU beat Duke in the tournament, I said "well I guess Duke really was overrated." And the ban hammer came down like lightning from the hands of Zeus.
-If you hung out with Scott and Jason IRL do you think they'd find a way to ban you from talking?
I think you can ask a Tim and Jaime and they'll probably tell you I'm not as annoying as I may sound on here. I'm actually fairly quiet in person. Probably why I am so LOUD with typing words. I really wouldn't say anything worth them wanting to "ban" me for outside of telling Tate, Duke's testicles will always inserted into the mouths of the NCAA and I'd probably jokingly ask Scott if has to bring a rain coat with him whenever he leaves the house (I think dumb me made fun of Seattle's constant rain).

I don't have nose hairs. I've never had to deal with them, can't imagine how shitty that is. I grow hair in the weirdest places. I have one single hair that grows in the exact same spot on the outside of my ears, in both of them. Just one blond hair. I cut it and it grows back an inch long within a week. It is the weirdest thing I've ever seen. I would not grow hair in my crack, it is the worst and every guy can relate to that.
-greg pirkl or brian turang?
Pirkl dude! Everyone thought he was going to be the shit in 1994 when he came up and crushed some bombs. but he sucked after the strike. I wanted his rookie card bad.
-why the hell won't the seahawks just go back to the old blue, silver and green? i mean, seriously.
I honestly hate the current jerseys. The neon green is dumb and I miss the silver. They need to at least throw in some throwbacks, i don't know why they won't wear them. everyone wants them.
-do your feet ever get cold in seattle? i don't remember my feet being cold until i moved to boston.
My feet rarely get cold...i wear flip flops from may to September and often my vans slips without socks, gotta watch out in the rain though or you'll get soaked.
-what kind of deodorant do you use?
degree sport. I hate any deoderant that's white because it's powdery and makes stains on your shirts, and the gel is the worst. true story, i used to wear gel when i was in 8th grade, and i remember i'd ride the bus to school and as the gel was setting a little thing of sweat would literally gleek out of my armpit and into my shirt. like there was a little pool of it behind this crusty ass gel wall and it would break through and squirt. every morning. gross. so now i have to find a clear stick that doesn't smell like butt and that's getting hard to find, everyone's so big on the invisible solid and i hate it.
-whatever happened to moving to texas?
Just didn't end up happening. Decided the strain would be too hard on us and it wasn't worth it. It would have been brutal on me since i work from home and wouldn't really be able to meet new people. at the end of the day we just love it in seattle too much so she's still exploring other avenues of careers. she works in advertising right now and will probably start making more than me at some point.
-how's the married life?
Great. she's my best friend and every second I spend with her i love her more than the last. i could not even function without her. /sap
-if drew got kicked out of his house for steal money from his parents and buying blu rays, would you let him sleep on your couch for a month? what about a year? how would your wife feel about this?
we have a big private deck/patio at our place, i would let drew buy a tent with that stolen money from REI and he could stay there for a week. that seems pretty fair, i wouldn't want him inside or he'd try and steal my district 9 blu-ray and my Erik Bedard jersey tee, although late at night i think i would probably find him curled up next to my favre packers jersey in his tent outside, wearing the cheesehead my mom brought back for me from Wisconsin in 1995 for warmth.

-I'm going to assume you either attend or attended Ohio State from here on out, did you always know you wanted to go to OSU?
Yeah, I'm currently in my third year at Ohio State. I'm not really sure if I always knew going into the college application process that I wanted to go here, but it definitely just fell into place. I only ended up applying to here, as it turns out. I applied to OSU first, and then I procrastinated with my other applications enough that when I received my acceptance letter from OSU a couple weeks later I was just set. I really only planned on applying to a couple other schools around NE Ohio, like Case Western and Akron. the farthest I visited was Cornell.
-David Boston, discuss.
He was before my time as a serious sports fan, but I definitely remember watching that Rose Bowl as a kid in '97 and I remember the little rivalry type thing he had with Charles Woodson, which was pretty awesome. Kinda sad how his pro career never really developed after he left Arizona.
-I've been to the UM campus, but never the OSU campus, convince me I need to go there at some point in my life.
Well I haven't been to the UM campus either, but I hear it's somewhat similar to here in Columbus. What really differs is us being right down the street from a legit downtown area. We have our own little "city" right around campus, with a pretty bumping handful of blocks with all the food and bars you would need. But it's definitely great to have a decent sized city just a mile down the road. I think for the most part people outside of Ohio really underestimate how big Columbus is. And I get that. It seems like Cleveland and Cincy are talked about a decent amount, and basically neither of those cities have really grown all that much in the last couple decades. Columbus is truly growing and it's a great city for young people. The Arena District (where the Blue Jackets arena is located) is really a happening place, there are plenty of good venues for musical acts (Columbus gets most of the main musical acts that anyone else gets) and a lot of great bars and restaurants. Just south of downtown is German Village, which is an old neighborhood with a bunch of great places to eat.
-Multiple times in my life I've changed my allegiance in the OSU-UM rivalry depending on which players I like more on either team. On a scale of 1-10, how much does that piss you off?
I like to think I'm pretty rational with the whole rivalry thing. I don't harbor some irrational hatred towards anything involving maize and blue. I understand they are a great university with a lot of programs that are better than OSU's, they just have a little catching up to do sports-wise. A lot of that has to do with the fact that in my lifetime as a sports fan the rivalry has been so one sided. Basically some of my earliest memories of The Game are when OSU and UM were numbers 1 and 2 and they were playing on my birthday while me and a bunch of my friends watched. For an outsider I don't really care if you flip flop, it seems like your way of picking allegiance seems pretty reasonable. I'm just assuming you've been on the RIGHT side as of late, as UM has been completely garbage with no players of notice. ;-)
-Take me through a day in the life of gonz please, we've all been waiting for this moment.
I'm sure you all have been waiting patiently enough. It's pretty standard college kid shit. Wake up either before class in the morning or in the afternoon if I sleep through class. Go to class, do school work, mostly just procrastinate, watch ESPN in my apartment, hang out with my roommates, play FIFA, etc etc. I like to play basketball a lot and OSU has some great rec facilities. On the weekends I go out with friends to either house parties or to the bars.
-Why the username? What's gonz?
Gonz was one of my nicknames that caught on in middle or high school. It's short for Gonzo, because I have a pretty big nose that hooks a little bit like the muppet character. It was just kinda catchy so I used it for a couple username type things on the interwebs. I'm not sure if anyone on here knows this but my actual name is Alex and most people nowadays either call me Alex or AC (initials).
-Sometimes I forget your city has a hockey team. I'm sorry, do you think this is common among idiots like me?
This really bugs me but it's really common I think. The Blue Jackets are basically irrelevant in the hockey world and it pains me because I love them. The hockey fan in me really flourished when I moved down here for school as a freshman (I'm from just outside of Cleveland) and almost right away they were in the playoffs. Unfortunately they have failed to repeat that success since then and still haven't won a playoff game in their decade of existence. I guess I'm used to this sort of professional sports mediocrity, though, as I'm a lifelong Cleveland fan. All I've had is basically the 2007 season, when the Indians SHOULD have made the world series, the Browns went 10-6 but missed the playoffs and the Cavs went to the finals only to get swept by the Spurs. One of these days one of my teams will win it all thought and I won't stop smiling for a very long time.
-Vinny Testeverde or Bernie Kosar?
Bernie Kosar all the way. Vinny was solid but for me he will always be associated with Bernie's release from the Browns, which is a dark time for Cleveland fans. It was just a preface to losing the team, and the fact that Testaverde went on to be a Pro Bowl quarterback in Baltimore is really brutal. Kosar is a complete legend for Browns fans. Cleveland adores him. So much so that we even worship him now that his life is mostly a mess or has been in the last few years and we love when he does the TV analysis for the Browns' preseason games, even though he sounds drunk most of the time.
-Thoughts on Club Tril?
Love Mark Titus. I wear my Club Tril shirt proudly and try my best to represent the Trillion Man March. He's pretty much a hero around here in Columbus. Seriously, though, I think he's a funny guy and I enjoy his blog a lot. It was a great idea when he created it and he's kept up with it enough and the quality is still there. Last weekend I went to the basketball game against Minnesota and heard a rumor that he would be at the game. Lo and behold he comes waltzing in the arena like he owns the place with a bit of a posse following him, wearing a garish red and white blazer with big furry, Bigfoot-like gloves on. I wouldn't surprised if he ended up making it as some sort of Bill Simmons-lite type writer on a sportscasting site in the future.
-If you and Drew got into a Big 10 brawl, who would win? Would you be afraid Drew would have some blu ray ninja stars with him?
Tough question. His Badgers definitely had the best of my Buckeyes during football season, even though they couldn't finish out their bowl season with a win. I think basketball has been mostly a wash over the past several years, and I think we have the clear advantage this season. As far as the intangibles go, the ninja stars would worry me but I'm pretty sure (but may be completely wrong) that Drew is not all that tall and I'm pushing 6'6" so I would just bring the fight inside and try to win up close and personal. I think my hair and facial hair is shaggy enough currently that I could take him. Plus my IRL irrationality and freak-out-capability when it comes to my sports teams may actually rival his internet persona.
Everyone can just call me Alex if they want. I feel like I know most of the regulars on here a lot more than anyone knows me and it's weird.

-i feel like you're not around as much as the rest of us (or maybe you're just in that thread where people talk about sticks and skates and pucks and stuff) what gives?
I feel like I'm around a lot more than my post count lets on. I check the forum numerous times a day, but never really post unless I feel like I have something intelligent or witty to say.
-i appreciate that you're an intelligent poster, but you don't have a holier than thou attitude, once again, what gives?
I dunno, I probably used to have an attitude like that when I posted more often and definitely still do at times. I still feel like some of the regulars here give new posters or Doodoobird too much shit, but I'd be lying if I said I'd never acted the same towards someone here. Basically I think it's because IRL I'm not too confrontational because I know I'd probably get my ass kicked in a fight against most people. It normally takes a lot for me to actually start throwing out serious insults at someone.
-you and pat must live really close to each other because you both live in canada, right?
Yep, we chill in each other's igloos all the time and then close to dinner time we'll going out and fish for salmon and hunt for deer meat. In all seriousness, no we don't live close.
-glyn milburn or todd sauerbrun?
Both of their Bears' careers are a bit before my time as a serious football fan, but I'll say Milburn because of the shit Sauerbrun talked about kicking to Devin Hester in '07, and then having Hester take back 2 returns against him. Tillman blocked a punt in that game too.
-what's the best city you've ever traveled to?
Tough choice since I still can't legally drink in most places so that limits the total viewing experience, but I guess I'll say Boston with Montreal a close second.
-would you ever consider moving to the states, or are you perfectly content in the great white north?
I've definitely considered it. I don't plan on spending the rest of my life in New Brunswick and I'll probably move to Halifax or Toronto after school, but there are some U.S. cities I'd love to live in as well.
-what do you do? school? work? take me through a day in the life.
I'm in university. Typical day consists of me waking up in the morning, going to class, finishing up in the afternoon and playing some NHL, doing homework, and watching TV for the rest of the day. In between classes I'll normally check facebook, here, other sites I frequent.
-if you could be a smell, what would it be. and of course, why?
I would be the smell of pine trees. I spend a lot of time outdoors in the summer and that's one smell I've always loved.
-what's your favorite part about new brunswick? and here's another one for ya! i would suppose the northernmost tip of maine is pretty hick. if you're driving through maine to canada, or vice versa, does it go from basically nothing to whoa! i'm in the southern most part of new brunswick! this shit is hoppin! or what?
Favourite part about New Brunswick is the fresh air. Only in Saint John (I live in the suburbs) can you really smell pollution of any kind. Definitely something I'll miss when I'm in a bigger city. There's nothing in Maine until you hit the Bangor area, likewise in New Brunswick once pass through Saint John heading south. The only major difference driving from NB into Maine is the highway. Until you reach Bangor and can get on the I-95, the highway is shit once you cross the border. All two-way traffic so no passing lanes, lower speed limits...turns what could be a 2 hour drive into a 3 hour one.
-if drew decided to become a bears fan tomorrow, on a scale of 1-10, how greatly would that shock you?
10 million, but c'mon Drew, we won the division this year! No more Mike McCarthy!
I spend a lot of time im columbus and even i forget they have a hockey team. I guess they have an mls team too now.
You should check out a Jackets' game. Live hockey's a blast and if you pick the right game the arena usually has a nice atmosphere. A couple friends went to the Jackets-Red Wings game last night and said it was awesome. Nationwide Arena is also extremely nice. They've had an MLS team for 16 years and the Crew won the MLS cup a couple years ago hah. Also we have probably the nicest minor league ballpark in the country where the Columbus Clippers (AAA affiliate for the Indians) play. Cubby's been there I think and can probably vouch for that. There's a ton to do here.

-hey jaime, what's up?
Hi Doug! Not much, just sitting here at work, which is where I usually post here from. Sorry for the delay, this weekend was a shitshow of epic proportions and I pretty much abandoned the internet until this morning.
-i want the juicy details as to why you got fired/banned, if this needs to be a pm, go ahead, then i'll post it and say daime jurante sent it to me.
Jason and I were never really friendly, so it didn't come as a total shock that I wasn't even given a chance. When he and others decided to start playing favorites with bans in the general forum, a lot of my IRL friends were caught in the crossfire (remember that commercial? don't get caught in the CROSS FIREEEEEEEEE! I always wanted that game) Anyway I stuck up for my friends, he blew up and told me I didn't do shit around here and he didn't even know why I was staff anymore blah blah blah (which is partially true, I had been coordinating/running the tent at Bamboozle the prior 3 years and all that went with it, which all of a sudden - with no explanation - didn't happen that year) and then perma-banned me. It's not really a big deal, I was still - IMO - fulfilling my mod duties, so he could have just kept me on as that, but whatever. He did respond to my request to change my staff account back to my nickname so it wouldn't come up when employers searched for me (I had been looking for a new job a few months back) so there's no bad blood here.
-so has dennis turned you into a red sox fan yet or what?
Never!! We've been really lucky that in the 3+ years we've been dating, the Yankees and Red Sox have never played each other in the postseason. Not sure what will go down when that finally happens. He did however recruit me as a Celtics fan, though I pretty much hate basketball. And he roots for the Giants with me.
-what would you have done if derek jeter had become a boston red sox?
It'd be weird, that's for sure. I don't know what I'd do really. I mean, he'd never be embraced by Boston fans so it'd be a pretty dumb move for him to go. It sucks being a Yankees fan in this sense, there's always so much bullshit in the media. Non-stories are always made into a big deal. It's frustrating.
-say joey harrington walked into your house and was all like, http://thesportshernia.typepad.com/blog/images/2007/07/25/joey_harrington_hair_2.jpg, and dennis wasn't around. but then because you're an honorable girl, you shut him down and he was like http://media.scout.com/Media/Player/52_JoeyHarrington_face_Seahawks.JPG . then you told him he could stay and watch tv if he wanted to and he was like http://uh2l.blogs.com/detroitessentials/images/joey_2. but then while he was watching a rerun of two and a half men he was like http://www.blogcdn.com/nfl.fanhouse.com/media/2008/09/harringtonsmile.jpg. what would happen, would you be able to turn down http://images.wikia.com/openserving/sports/images/b/b4/Player_profile_Joey_Harrington.jpg?
There's no way Joey thinks Two and a Half Men is funny. That has to be the worst show in the history of television ever. I'd definitely let him hang out and maybe even put on my Lions jersey so he knows that he had one fan at least. It'd be tough to turn him down though, he is a stud. I think Dennis would be OK with it.
-did justin smile once when you met him?
Haha, yes, he did. We got drunk on Governors Island and danced to Tokyo Police Club and Passion Pit. Tim (wearecured) was there as well.
-did he tell you where any phillies players lived?
No but I wish he told me where Cole Hamels lived so I could pretend (but really) stalk him. He is dreamy.
-did he tell you where you could get a great steak?
Sadly I don't get this joke but I live in NYC, I could tell you tons of places where you can get great steak. Haha.
-i'll bet you want to meet me, don't you? just so i could become part of your list.
Of course! It's pretty crazy how many people I've met/hang out with that post on this site. Tim, Matt, Justin, Perry, Scott, and lots of people from the general forum (many of whom don't post anymore).
-if drew beringer came by your apartment with a boombox playing the new damned things record, what would you do?
First I'd take his boombox and make him to play all the albums advances he's gotten in the mail recently. We'd then commiserate on how cliche music is these days and how we wish things went back to how they were in 2004. He'd then cry on my shoulder how his ex Riley and the Milwaukee Brewers destroyed his heart. I'd get him drunk on smirnoff ice and take him to my favorite place in my neighborhood, Crif Dogs(http://www.crifdogs.com/menu), where he'd shovel in a hot dog and some tots, proclaiming how much better it is than Jimmy Johns, and then vomit all over the floor.
Done!
