What is Your Favorite Local Band?

Where are you from (specifically) and what cool local bands are in your hometown that you recommend people listen to? I am not talking about some hot guys/girls lame band or your friends lame band... something legitimately notable. I want to expand my horizons :)

Hey im from Ireland. If you are a local band in this small country (population 4 million) then that means about a hundred people have heard of you. But a band which has actually got some success of late and i think are really great are: Fight Like Apes. Bono himself likes em, FACT. They released an EP this year, as well as an album two years. A new disc is being released within the next few months. They haven't blown up like Sparks The Rescue has, but they deserve way more recognition. They recently opened for Anthony Green, to his delight.
