my classes were cancelled today so i went and picked up Jack Johnson and Mars Volta from FYE.

Jack Johnson-Amazing CD. Im a Jack fan but even if you aren't this is a great cd.

Mars Volta- My Review of this CD is this. Fuck Mars Volta. Fuck Sparta. At The Drive In need to get it together and make a new CD. The new Mars Volta CD is ok at best i was thoroughly disappointed and i found that their first CD was much better. But this is only one man opinions and this was only after one listen.

to sum it up, the movements dont go along with the tracks, so tracks 8-12 are cassandra gemenni and the other 4 are what they are supposed to be... if you dont believe me, listen to the cd yourselves, its obvious the last tracks are all cassandra

the inside of the cd says frances the mute and it has three parts, cassandra has 5 it goes cassandra gemin part A is track 5, B 6, C 7, D 8, E 9. then frances the mute part A is track 10, B 12, C 12.

i guess i could be wrong, but that is the only thing that makes sense to me

the parts of the song dont mean diffrent tracks, its movements of the songs, they dont correlate to the tracks themselves...

yea, the problem is with universal records, not you... they foreced mars volta to have more than 5 tracks because 5 tracks is offically an ep and cant be on teh billboard lists or get gold or platinum and whatnot...

the really weird thing thou is that in japan they get frances the mute as one of their tracks, but for somewhat undisclosed reasons universa wouldnt let it be on the american release... (i dont get it) but rumor has it that the track will be on the widow single, and will then leak online and probably pop up on this site in time

if you are using itunes... re-import songs 5-12, but before you do select the songs and go to the "Advanced" menu and then "join cd tracks" you will get the full 32:32 long cassandra geminni the way that universal doesnt want you to have it....

well tracks 5-12 dont have official names cuz cassandra isnt even cut into the specific movements, so they are basically just Cassandra Geminni I, Cassandra Geminni II, Cassandra Geminni III, etc...

New Mars Volta isn't great...Too much filler. But no, not fuck those bands. Fuck their last albums. The Mars Volta and Sparta's first releases were both incredible CDs, in fact I enjoy both of them more than any At The Drive-In release, which is saying a lot, considering how amazing Relationship of Command is, as well as In Casino Out.
