If there's one thing better than a Less Than Jake show, it's a FREE Less Than Jake show. It was a promotional thing for Island Water Sports in Deerfield Beach. It was basically like Warped Tour, in a 7/11 parking lot. Red Bull was giving away free stuff, Hurley was sponsoring it all, and girls were in their bathing suits...at night. While all of that doesn't make sense to me, I showed up at 6:30, because LTJ were supposed to start at 7:15, but ended up not going on til about 9pm.
But probably the funniest/most pathetic thing of the night was the band that played before them. I can't remember their name, but they were a punk band from Cali, and after the first song, he asked the crowd "who's ready to slam dance for Jesus?". Ohhhh shit. He basically preached in between songs, and when they were done, some dude came up on stage and prayed, to a mixed crowd of cheers and fuck you's, mostly cheers surprisingly. But here's the LTJ set, and fuck the police for shutting it down before their last few songs.
