10.17 - The Murat Arabian Room
Judgement Day and David Vandervelde opened.
I enjoyed the first song Judgement Day played
but the rest of the set was a bit over the top for me.
I really dug David's set and I'm going to have to check out more from him.
Margot's set, in order:
There's Talk of Mine Shafts
At The Carnival
Oh, What a Nightmare
On A Freezing Chicago Street
Talking in Code
Mariel's Brazen Overture
Love Song for a Schuba's Bartender
Broad Ripple is Burning (Not Animal version)
Vampires in Blue Dresses
A Children's Crusade on Acid
Cold, Kind and Lemon Eyes
Skeleton Key
My Baby Shoots Her Mouth Off
As Tall As Cliffs
encore:
German Motor Car
Quiet As A Mouse
These guys put on a hell of a show. On a Freezing Chicago Street, Talking in Code, and Mariel's Brazen Overture all back to back was definitely the highlight of the show followed by German Motor Car. Everyone, if you're a fan or just curious, should definitely try and catch one of their shows in your area. Well worth the 14 dollars.
