I downloaded it today, and I must say it's REALLY not for me. It's a whole different style, and I was just hoping they'd extend just a little on their older style. Anyways, I'm sure other people will have different opinions about it. If you want to whore it off me, just let me know. Or you could just get it off IRC.

I pretty much agree with you, when I listened to this I was slighty disappointed. But I'm hoping that after a few more listens it will grow on me.

I'm not. Personally that is. I'm saying other people might like the new style.

what is this new style like, per se? I enjoyed their first album, and I'm not too big on most pop-punk...

the new spitalfield album sounds like...well take the new chicago pop punk sound spitalfield has proven to do so well, make the choruses slightly more similar to alt. rock anthems, and mix it with a bit of texas is the reason, piebald. that about sums it up, i'm definitely a fan.
I think they've really lost their originality, all their other albums and eps had something that really set them apart from a lot of other bands. I mean the lyrics are still good but the music is a bit bland and generic, one of my favourite bands so I'm super disappointed but I'm going to try to give it a few more listens.

Remember Right Now is one of the most unoriginal releases ever. It was a great album but really wasnt that original. This sounds a lot more like them. They always said their influences were Texas is the Reason, Braid, and the Foo Fighters. Its finally starting to come out in their songwriting.

stop doing bad things is a big disappointment. they totally went in the wrong direction with their sound. their first album was really poppy, but in a good way. the new ones not as good.

Texas is the Reason? and Piebald? I'm there. I hope you're right, thanks though.

To me, this sounds different than anything they've ever done, and that's not a good thing. I feel its going against both RRN and the eps, but in a bad way.
new spitalfield isn't bad, but it's disappointing...i was hoping for something better from a band that released remember right now which was a really good underrated album

I did an interview with them for Skratch Magazine. I asked Mike the singer what he thought about some of the reviews questioning their originality and and song writing ability. It was a pretty good response. Spitalfields a good Interview. Check it out in April's Issue.
