This is the drum kit i'm currently using, it's great but it's more for jazz/softer music from what i've heard (and based on the type of heads that came with it) Plus it's not mine it's my brothers and in the next year I don't know if it will be avaliable for me for shows. I'm looking for new drum stuff from the ground up basically. I'm not a beginner drummer so i'm looking for good intermediate stuff. I already plan on buying these:

Now i'm basicaly looking for affordable, sturdy stands, any suggestions? I would need 2 cymbal stands, a highhat stand, snare, and maybe a seat?

I also want opinions on a double bass pedal, I want something that will give me alot of speed and power but isn't overpriced. I'm using a DW4000 and it's really good maybe the step up?

Lastly, an intermediate kit. I like the Gretsch so maybe something in that price range/style? I only need a 4-piece.

I've used midwestpercussion.com for alot of my drum needs. Check it out.

I had a catalina club jazz kit (the 18" kick, 12" rack, 14" floor) and I took it on tour for a while without any problems as far as sound goes. the catalinas are great intermediate drumsets, it's all about how you tune them and which heads you choose. I used remo emperor smooth white heads on the toms and they sounded great. I've seen the drummer from Pistolita use the same kit and use ambassador coateds. Anyways if you spend enough time finding the right heads for your sound you'll be fine with Gretsch Catalinas.

That said, I'd never buy a cymbal pack. I'd go one at a time, building a set of cymbals that sound great together but offer you versatility in your sound. I have always been a fan of bigger crashes, the 14" especially doesn't do it for me. I have a few 16"s which are great for some things but overall I use 18" and 19" crashes. Look at Zildjian A Medium crashes, they sound great and last long. I also have an 18" zildjian Z custom crash that only sounds better with time and a beautiful 19" k custom hybrid crash.

As far as stands, I recommend the DW 9000 series stands. All of their stands are versatile, easy to lock so you can set em up quickly and really sturdy. As for a throne I use a pork pie, which is super comfortable and sturdy. I think Pacific makes one similar now, but I'm not sure how it matches up.

For kick pedals, I've used Tama Iron Cobras for like 6 years. I dig them. They're speedy, and not quite as expensive as some of the others out there. I've heard good things about the DW double kicks. I've only used a DW 5000 single pedal before but it was great.

Good luck.

For the bass pedal definitely go for high-end DW

Well, you could try using the DW 9000 series but they are really expensive, if you don't want to spend so much I recommend buying some Pearl stands those have always been good when I have used them.
