Mediocre song, but the video was alright. I'm fond of the "breaking" movie idea they used, but it just didn't live up to its potential. :headshake Still, could have been worse, from a musically standpoint.

Both the song and the video for it are pretty mediocre in my opinion. I wouldn't call either of them bad per se, but definitely not their best.

I completely agree with you...loved the song on the CD but now that it's inescapable it's driving me insane. It's like...come on MTV play the new single. Finally MTV2 caught on and is playing "Holiday" now.

I liked the video because its supposed to go along with the American Idiot movie, u know, with St. Jimmy and Whatsername by the barrel fire...The song is very overplayed, I love it but it got boring after awhile....

I am so fucking tired of that song I have heard it a million times over. Believe me, I'm as much of a Green Fan as anyone else, I was past the point of obsessed at one point...But this song...It made me sad. Not the lyrics. Not the video. Not even the song itself. But the fact that Green Day actually released something of this magnitude..I can sing that song backwards. Isn't that sad?! I don't even want to be able to. I want to be able to sing along to the chorus and if it's past that then you know you ethier A: have the cd, or B: it's too overplayed. I hate to say it, but I was at one time in love with this song. But as soon as I heard it on the radio, as far as anyone knew, I never liked it.

I'm all for the comeback of Green Day, but when the cheerleaders of your school's prep squad starts using the lyrics for a cheer, you know that the world is coming to an end.
