see, these things are hilarious because it always has one or two songs where the little kids are singing such suggestive material, especially all the sex songs (put into "cute" terms). I wonder if they ever change the lyrics if there's a slight swear in the original? Anyway, as for Float On, I always thought that the line about "A Fake Jamaican taking every last dime with that scam" was a drug reference. Good job Kidz Bop, you have the little ones singing about botched pot sales.

this just shows how much of a joke Modest Mouse have become, it's sad really, their old shit was insanely good, and thats not to say the new albums entirely a failure, I do like a few songs but over-all its designed as a cash-cow and it paid off so to speak.

To my understanding, the song "Float On" is actually written about them floating away from the undrground/anti-mainstream sound and that it's there time to make money because theyve done the underground thing for so long.

but then again that is the music business for you and here i am expecting them to care about the music when they want money and BITCHES. By no means am I calling them sell-outs, they have worked so hard but I just hope their next album is trippy and dark.

"good news" is still an amazing album, on par with their previous ones...i'm not sure how it is that they got so big all of a sudden. the next one has the possibility to suck though.

Dude, calm down. They wrote a great album, Good News is a great album, and the reason why it sold infinitely more than any of their other albums is they apparently tried to make it slightly more accessible. Be happy for the bands success, don't chastise them because they went away a little from their formula and found something that sells.

Actually that lyric is referring to a jamaican is about a fake jamaican in seattle. My brothers friend had the same guy pull the scam on him, it works like this. This guy that has a jamaican accent comes up to you and says "man, I got a rpboem. I got $5,000 on me and I have to go voer to my ex girlfriends house. The problem is that her new boyfriend is probably gonna kick my ass and steal all my money. If I give you this $5,000 to hold onto and we meet back here in 2 hours can you do it". Then if you say yes he goes into saying "well man, this is a lot of money if you give me $500 (or whatever amount it is) to hold onto then when I get back I'll double it. It's just to make sure that I can trust you". So in the end if you go through it you give him all that money and he gives you a wad of cash, trouble is, is that it's a $20 bill rolled up around monopoly money or something like that. On another note, my brother also saw them play their first show and said that they stopped in the middle of their set and had someone come up and take a picture of them in front of all the people. They were also horrible. Look how far they've come, they're still shitty but now they get I think $50,000 a show.

I genuinely think this is even better than the original. The chorus is melodic bliss. No joke.

please do not speak any longer, just because they are played on MTV they suck now...and dont try to tell me that that is not the reason you dont like them anymore. Good News is definately one of their best efforts if not there best....and i love all of there old stuff, Everywhere, THe Moon and anrctica, building nothing out of something....all of them arte good and so is good news, which happens to be one of my favorite records of all time, along with OK Computer, Sgt. Peppers, and Figure 8. Many kids probably dont agree with me at all but i think "good news" is a masterpiece and i mean that when i say that

Butcher? I think you mispronounced "make better". My only reason for even playing music and being in a band is in the hopes of being covered by THE kidz bop crew.

I didn't think it was a drug reference, instead, a reference to Miss Cleo. Call me dahling.

you just pretty much tried to tell me this album wasnt a classic no matter my opinion......and yea i do realize i name-dropped radiohead, the beatles, and elliott smith....and just because modest mouse may not be regarded as a classic or a legend does not mean i have the right to regard it as an amazing record....if thats what i think then thats obviously how i feel......it is one of my top five records of ALL TIME, includin OK Computer, Sgt. Pepper, Figure 8, and Led Zeppeline IV
