Bands just with Bass and Drums such as Death From Above did? Or do you think there is no hope for that type of music?

Is this a question more related to, "do you think if I started a band that consisted of a bassist and a drummer, it could be just as successful/popular as Death From Above 1979". If so, then you should give up now.

If it's an actual question, then you need to be a bit more specific.

There there hope for that type of music to be as popular as Indie or even hardcore music. Basically can this make a come back.

Well, Death From Above also had a ton of synths, in which case you're kinda talking about a band with no guitar.
I would say yes, there is hope for bands like that to make it, you just have to be creative. DFA1979 had a ton of potential, but they broke up before they could really hit their stride. Shame.

Not a big fan of lightning bolt to me they just are a bunch of noise no structure at all. Atleast with DFA they had structure in every song.

drum & bass? there's a huge underground & international market for that, it's crazy how big it is. or did you mean popular in the mainstream? who knows, trends come, trends go
