Hmm, I'd say Nirvana and Paramore for pop punk, but seeing as you want some variety, why not give grunge a try?

Alice in Chains - Dirt
Soundgarden - Superunknown
Nirvana - Nevermind
Pearl Jam - Ten

Any of those four albums are a good starting point for the genre. AiC has a heavy metal influence, Nirvana has a punk influence, Pearl Jam has a bit of a hard rock influence, and Soundgarden is kinda a bit of everything.

It's strange that I'm such a big grunge fan, considering I too spend most of my time listening to pop punk. If you need any more advice, feel free to ask me.
