Minus The Bear/The New Year/The Uglysuit
Monday September 20, 2008
Grog Shop
Cleveland Heights, OH
We missed The Ugly Suit.
We saw a song or two of The New Year but they were the type of band that was hard to get in to if you don't previously know them, it was too quite and everyone was too loud.
I had never listened to much Minus The Bear before the show tonight except for two or three times and I enjoyed what I heard. I didn't know what to expect going in to the show and seeing them but it was nothing short of a wonderful show. The band sounded great the, they were tight and dead on and the near capicty crowd ate it up the whole for the whole show. And I couldn't help but move along and love almost every second of it. I wasn't a big fan of the mid-set two acoustic songs, I didn't like the sound of this band in an acoustic setting and it was a bit of a downer for me. After those luckily I was able to fall right back in to it and loved the rest of the show. They played for a little over an hour.
Lotus
Shapes
The Game Needed Me
The Pig War
Dr. L'ing
When We Escape
New Song
Guns And Ammo [Acoustic]
Pachuca Sunrise [Acoustic]
???
I Lost All My Money At The Cockfights
Knights
Drilling
Absinthe Party At The Fly Honey Warehouse
The song with the "???" was a song they claimed that is hardly ever (maybe he said never?) played but often requested and the crowd went nuts for it, I could have swore he said "this is the first time it's being played" but I could be wrong.
It was $9.00 and my time well spent, I'd go see them again undoubtly.
