The Forces of Evil (http://www.theforcesofevil-ska.com) have officially broken up. However, they posted four new songs on their MySpace (http://www.myspace.com/theforcesofevil) page for you to listen to as a farewell. R.I.P. Forces of Evil!
How does a side project break up? Weird. Oh well. I know I'll miss them. RIP FOE!

I'm not really sure why they broke up, but I heard Aaron couldn't handle two bands. That might be very untrue though, so don't take my word on that.

this band's purpose was to represent ska from the underground...I guess this is...ironic maybe? ah fuck it, reel big fish rules and your mother's a whore

They were supposed to have a new album soon, but I guess that plan has been abandoned.

I had always wondered... when Aaron wrote a song how did he decide if it was going to be a Forces Of Evil song or Reel Big Fish song?
Usually when someone has a sideproject the genres of the two bands are different so that they can explore new avenues. Kinda hard to do that when both of your bands are ska bands...

yeah rbf is really the only band that matters, although forces of evil was fun.

Very true, I bet that compounded into the band disbanding.
I always felt that Forces of Evil were more "scene", more aware of it in their songs. Reel Big Fish seemed to take their own having fun more seriously, if that makes sense, haha.

This makes me sad.
Don't forget to fight for your right to skank!!
They both are good.
But i loved the forces of evil cd. By far one of my favorites of all time, theres so much shit that normal people can relate to on that album. I fuckin love ska. Im just glad nothin happened to RBF.
However...the numbers are declining! We need more ska bands!
Everyone start one. I am!
Lobster Mobster is coming soon.

He had completely a different mindset when he wrote FOE songs. The song topics are much more lighthearted, not nearly as satirical. They've got a much different feel to them. It's just music for fun's sake.
Musically, you're right though. RBF and FOE had very similar styles.
I guess I never considered this to be a long-tem thing, so it's not all that surprising to me. Sad nonetheless.
