Just saw the weez play in AZ on the 18th. Been wanting to see them for 11 years and finally got a chance to. Their set was pretty awesome; played a few songs from every cd and did a few covers.
OPENERS:
Angels & Airwaves sucked. got booed a lot. Tom really thinks his band is so epic, yet every show review I've read about them has been negative.
Tokyo Police Club were pretty good! Was actually my first time hearing them and I liked them quite a bit.
WEEZER SETLIST:
My Name Is Jonas
Pink Triangle
Perfect Situation
Say It Ain’t So
Suzanne
Keep Fishin’
King
Undone (The Sweater Song)
Pork & Beans
Dope Nose
Troublemaker
Automatic
Hash Pipe
El Scorcho
Time (Pink Floyd cover)
The Greatest Man That Ever Lived
Encore:
Island in the Sun
Beverly Hills
Heart Songs (via LP)
Sliver (Nirvana cover)
Buddy Holly
Has anyone else seen this tour?

They need to ditch the covers, and throw in Falling for You and Only in Dreams.

I saw this tour back in September @ Susquehanna Bank Center, and yes it was amazing and probably the best concert I've ever been to. Weezer's been my favorite band for years now, and it was awesome to finally get to see them live. If there's a couple little things they could've changed, it would definetly be A. get the fuck rid of King, that song is terrible, and B. Rivers should be singing all the classic songs, not the other members.
However I'm gonna have to disagree with you on the opening acts. To me it was Tokyo Police Club that sucked. Me, my friends, and pretty much everyone else I talked to there agreed they were just epic fail. Angels & Airwaves actually put on a pretty good set, no it wasn't groundbreaking by any means, but it moved me a hell of alot more than TPC's boring set did. Booing AvA/Tom is just stupid and immature.

Less covers/More Pinkerton please.

I don't have any problems with the setlist. Covers make things interesting. A lot of Pinkerton would make things feel kind of weird... I'm surprised they played that much to begin with. Also, TPC is great. Not a fan at all of AVA.

I agree. Going from singing about wanting to fuck dogs to singing about space travel is quite a subtle transition. Really quite mature. You make no sense.

Haha, thats just about the dumbest generalization I've ever heard. Yes, blink did do joke songs like Fuck A Dog, When You Fucked Granpa, Family Reunion and shit like that. But those were just exactly that- JOKE SONGS. They had serious songs even from the beginning of their career. If you listen to blink's Untitled album and pay attention to the topics/themes on that (hmm what a suprise, there's actually a song about "space travel" on a blink album as well!), then AvA really isn't THAT far off.

Ava was NOT booed. I was there and there weren't any boo's for any of the bands. His stage antic's are friggin lame though, and that whole speech about him sneaking a peek at the girl and fuck this and fuck that, the solo that the tech (thankfully) messed up on would have impregnanted every girl there... ridiculous.
We left after Beverly Hills. I totally forgot about Buddy Holly and we were tying to think what other single we knew they left off. Oh well. Weezer still played an amazing set.

Blink is extremely far off. Also, name a "serious" song on Buddha. Who cares if they were "JOKE SONGS"? They're still extremely immature. I've paid attention to the topics and themes on S/T. I don't give a shit about that. It might've been closer to the shitty band that AVA is, but that doesn't make AVA a good band. I can't believe I am watching a Blink fan accuse people of being immature. People are booing AVA for a reason, buddy.

Only In Dreams is a necessity for any encore closer. Come on, guys. Your set was pretty solid, but would it kill you to cut out, say, Dope Nose or Suzanne to make room for some more Blue at the end?

Whoa, a Pink Floyd cover?

Yeah, that was actually pretty epic. I've only gone to two arena shows (the other Rise Against & MCR last year) but these fans were way more into it. Lighters/cell phone glow galore during the song.

Pretty solid set.
Opening with My Name is Jonas is a wise choice.

i was at this show too and Angels&Airwaves DID get booed. Everyone in the front was booing when they called Tom up to sing part of Undone (The Sweater Song).

Island in the Sun and Beverly Hills are apart of the Hootenanny thing they're doing now, and they aren't actually play Heart Songs.

Are they doing the hootenanny on the whole tour?
I think they could have done without Heart Songs although i understand it was a transition song. (They played about half of the vinyl version and everyone stared at the stage wondering what the point of it was.) They could have done it live..

"Sometimes" is a pretty serious song. "Carousel" was a typical song about loneliness/longing, which isn't really "jokey" or "immature".

Hootenanny thing?
They had a contest through the radio station prior to the arizona show where they picked about 30 ppl that played a vast array of instruments onto the stage to play 'island in the sun' and 'beverly hills' with them. it actually sounded ok. If you type in 'weezer arizona' on youtube ou can see a video of it.
