View Full Version : My ears are still ringing from a concert I went to last Thursday
Should I be worried yet? Any similar experiences? What did you do about it? What ended up happening?

do you not go to shows very often?

You should probably visit a specialist if it is indeed that bad. I would think this is common logic, really

it happened to me at warped years ago - turned out to be tinnitus. But I have played in bands for years so I was "more prone" to it. Go see a specialist as it might just be a sinus / allergy issue

Anything beyond 2/3 days would be cause to see someone I think. It must be driving you nuts.

All his friends keep telling him that but he can't hear them.
Story of my life. Either I got use to it or it tends to go away.

The consensus says go to the doctor. Were you standing right next to the speakers?
researchers claim ORAL is the cure.
I was standing fairly close. I go to concerts semi-regularly, but I never get as close as I was to the front (or the speakers). The problem is that some of the times I thought my ears were ringing in the last week, I think it was just me and my ears weren't actually ringing (or there might have been a ringing sound being emitted by a computer or some other electronic device). Some of the times, though, like last night when I was going to bed, I was almost certain that my ears were actually ringing. Maybe I should just get my ears checked out.

It worries me more than anything else. I don't feel like I have any hearing loss or anything, so that's good. I just hope it's nothing permanent.

yeah ive been through some loud ass shit and my ears have never rang more than 2 days. but you might just be over reacting a bit because technically your ears are always ringing but if youre paying attention to it it seems louder.
When your ears ring like that it's the sound of the cilia (the tiny hairs in your ears) giving their "swan song" of sorts. You'll never hear at that pitch again.

This has happens to me every time the scenario rolls around the silence. Drown the absorbing dinner, and the reduced drum will stitch itself into a curtain.

I pray to god that this wasn't actually supposed to make sense.

I'm thinking tinnitus isn't something that can be treated, and just has to go away on its own. Or not. Am I right?

I've had that thought. I'm thinking of going to see an Audiologist so I can put this thing to rest.
Thanks for all of the responses guys.
Invest in some good earplugs. I need to do the same.
tell those guys to play their music softer, god knows we aren't 17 anymore.

there are tiny fibers on the ear drum that tear from loud music and they usually rebuild in a day or two. thats what most often happens, in many cases your ear drums become sensitive for weeks afterwards. i dont think its a big deal as long as its not bothering you ALL the time. if it always hurts, then you have a problem.
