Nobody will post in this thread because they are too busy making sandwich jokes. Mission of Burma rules. VS rules. Tape looping rules.

Mission of Burma was amazing for their time. I saw them live 2 years ago... wasn't that great live. I was so disappointed. I still love the band's music though. Shellac on the other hand... holy shit.... FUCKING INCREDIBLE.

Time in Malta were better than Mission To Burma

"I'm not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not your academy..."

That is the extent of my Mission of Burma knowledge. I've read about them a bit and I've been meaning to get into them more.

Real good, but nobody will post in this since they're too concerned with All Time Low.
It's a damn shame.

called it. hardly anyone here knows anything about music history outside what they read in an issue of ap magazine.

AP did something on Mission of Burma? Or are you just making a statement that's not really related to the band?

I've only listened to the two albums released since they reformed. I was particularly fond of The Obliterati, but have, unfortunately, not yet mined their past work.

I'm saying this band is one ofthe most important underground bands in history, and you'd think for all the people getting into bands like Bruce Springsteen and The Clash to look like they know something about the history of music would at least know something about Mission of Burma since they were only one of the first true underground/indie American bands outside of New York.

Well not everyone has even heard of Mission of Burma. I wouldn't have if I hadn't read Our Band Could Be Your Life. So how can someone get into a band if they haven't even heard of it? Sure you could also argue that they would need to do some investigating but some people just don't want to do that.

band headlined pitchfork fest this year, they've been cited as an influence to bands like nirvana and the pixies, it should be pretty common knowledge. it's not like i'm talking about some super obscure crust punk band or something.

i believe the point he made was that with some of the other bands people here are into it would make sense that they would have at least heard of this band

hadn't heard of them til earlier this year, but I got the new Vs. CD/DVD on a whim and it is awesome! Definitely sweet watching a concert from 1982 also, way different from today haha. Saying no to Rush gives them more points in my book.

i thought it was sweet, but there were like cops there and stuff keeping it under control haha. the sound could have been a little louder...i can only imagine how loud their stuff sounds in person, but i can forgive the sound since it was 26 years ago...good song selection too.

i also love the bonus tracks on the definitive edition like "forget" and "ok/no way" so if you don't have those on CD it is def worth it.

i'll probably get the EP first because it has my favorite songs on it, but i'm definitely going to get both of the old albums with dvds because that's a pretty great idea for a reissue. bonus tracks, plus a whole live show that nobody really watched.

It probably would. That doesn't necessarily mean that they'd have anything to say about them.
