I may not be into U2 as much as others, but they deserve every ounce of credit that they get, and this is almost all they deserve for the legacy that they have carried on throughout the years. Good for them.

as lots of people say they are the biggest band in the world and definately one of the best i think them and the beatles fall in to a select group in our parents time the beatles were the biggest band and now its u2 for our generation

U2 was good and all, but rolling stone in their recent top 500 songs gave them more top 500 songs than led zeppelin, who in my opinion is the most influential and arguably the best band of all time.. not to take anything away from U2, just venting my anger at rolling stones shitty top 500 lists

My Dad was with them last night, he called me and was like.."Dude, Bono is honestly the nicest guy in the world..he goes so far out of his way to say hello to people and tells the limo drivers people who work for him to wear normal street clothes and not to treat them like rock stars because they're just normal people who got lucky doing something they love". He came home raving about how nice the guys were and stuff.

if you ever get a chance to see them live, DO IT. seriously.
yeah i know tickets are hard to get, but i got lukcy and saw them on the elevation tour. great great great show. amazing performers, they definitely deserve this honor.

U2 for our generation? there must be a gap.... im not too into U2. i think they are highly over rated. they are good. yes. they have my respect yes. but im not like influenced by them at all. i wonder what band is for MY generation...?

U2 are great. People our age tend to rip on them, but they really shouldn't. Watch a live dvd of theirs, or read about some of the things they've done around the world.
They are amazing.
And christ can Bono sing like a mother.

If you're not into U2 listen to best of 1980-1990, its a million times better than anything they've done recently.

U2 has influenced this modern wave of mellow/christian sounding stuff so much. Acceptance, Mae, Terminal, Anberlin, Jew, etc. all have U2 influences in their sound. So although you may not like their music, they're still worthy of respect...very few bands can stick around as long as them and sell teh amount of records they do.

they did a counting crows tribute album, and according to shrek 2 they still make music, i think u2 deserved way before they did, the effect that theyve had on music has been tremendous, and there live show is full of so much energy, bono has some lungs

I'm a huge fan of older U2 (unforgetable fire, boy, war, october, joshua tree) but this new album is really good. its a retrospect of all of their albums. you can hear shades from every album in the new one ... its awesome and they deserve all the respect they get and then some.
