found my season 1 box and started watching. It never had much credibility, but defiantly was charming and entertaining (most or the first season at least) If I had to name my top shows it was be Arrested Development and Lost, but for some reason I'm very attached to this show.

I searched for the original thread and could not find

It really was all about season one and (the ridiculously long) season two... after that I started losing interest around halfway through season three.

I think in season 4 they knew they were cancelled, so they just did the most retarded episodes they could. Like when Ryan and Taylor were knocked out.

4 was fucking pathetic. Did you pay attention to the episodes? Taylor becoming one of the core 4 or whatever was awful. Then her having to go to a shrink and can't speak to Ryan. Then her stalking Ryan. Then those awful fantasies Ryan started having. Seth lost everything I ever loved about his character. The only decent part is the last episode. I liked the way they ended the series with Ryan

I don't see it that way. Sure, they got a little more experimental with it. I loved Taylor though... I don't know, looking back on it some of the episodes in the middle of the season, like the Chrismukkah and New Years ones, were really stupid. But the first four, along with episode 6 which is one of my favorites of the whole series, and with the last couple were some of the best The O.C. ever did. They were miles and miles above season 3 and late season 2.

I caught some of the old epsidoes on tv a few days ago, and completely forgot how much I loved that show when it started. The first few seasons were gold. After that, not so much though.

Also... why have none of them gone on to have another job? I thought they would all have done well. But, Rachel Bilson and Misha Barton are just around because they wear cute outfits, Adam Brody was only in a mediocre movie, and the dude who played Ryan seems to have dissapeared off the face of the earth. I think it's sad that the only person from that show with a job now is Sammire Armstrong.

I hated the way they made Taylor so unlikable in season 3 then tried to make her Ryans girlfriend after she was already seen as a crazy ass bitch for Seth. It just felt so terrible. They would've been better off bringing back Ryan's old girlfriend instead. I don't remember individual episodes since I haven't seen them in a while but everything about the season was pretty bad the way I remember it. I might have to go revisit the entire series now

Caleb (don't know his real name) was on the last episode of Entourage... Ryan (forgot his real name as well) did 88 Minutes (the movie) with Al Pacino which was a complete flop.

I would of thought if anyone deserved to have more of a career after that show it would of been Adam Brody, he's a fucking legend.

I think it was a really good show, and the only reason it ever really went sour was because Mischa Barton thought she'd suddenly become too good and wanted to leave.

had it not been for her demise in the show, it would have gone on for at least a few more seasons.

Yeah I agree with you on the Taylor thing... I mean this was the same chick that helped get Marissa get kicked out of school, and then starts dating Ryan?... But I've hated Marissa ever since the Oliver thing so I was glad when that happened. I think season 4 is just better after multiple viewings, at least some of it. Taylor is a lot hotter too.

Hell yeah... To me it seemed when season 3 rolled along, Mischa was deliberately acting horribly. It's like she just didn't bother to try anymore.
And yeah Adam Brody should be working more... He was in Land of Women, but that movie sucked..
I think Ben McKenzie was the best actor on that show... He's in a one man movie called Johnny Got His Gun or something like that... But he should be doing more IMO.

Also, on a sort of a side note, whether you liked the show or not you gotta admit that it had some of the best music on a TV Show ever. Death Cab for Cutie, The Killers, Spoon, Modest Mouse, Coldplay, Jet etc...

These 2. Season 3 was awful, then Josh Schwartz came back and was more heavily involved and gave the show a breath of fresh air again. The reason season 1 was so great was that even though there was drama it was always in sunny, beautiful california. Season 3 got too dark, and when they made it lighthearted again in season 4 it got much better. Too bad its audience had already switched over to the embarrassment that is Grey's Anatomy in that time slot.

Worst concept of season 4 was the unconscious episode with Taylor falling off the ladder and Ryan doing whatever. So incredibly cheesy. I liked Kaitlin's character and Taylor's character added a lot to the show. Season 3 was bad. I hated Johnny's character. It was just too much.

i couldn't agree with you more, taylor wasn't real at all she was like some sort of doll or something she had no REAL problems as apposed to marissa, and her voice, omg her voice everytime i heard it i wanted to do a kurt cobain. the writers will go to hell for doing this.

season one was classic
season two was pretty good (i remember watching the finale and thinking "well this is not going to end well" and then just being completely shocked by the ridiculous ending.)
season three was AWFUL. there were NO good episodes and the guest characters were an insult to my intelligence. what the fuck happened?
season four - loved the premiere, liked the first half, lost steam for me when the taylor/ryan shit started happening, but the end of the last episode was fucking spectacular. they did that perfectly. everything, from ryan's walk around the destroyed house to the song to the final moments with ryan and that kid. it was a glorious conclusion and reminded me what this show once was. such a shame they had to jump the shark so bad on the pile of shit that is season 3.

Yeah, when this show first started I thought it'd be incredibly stupid and thought I'd never watch it. Then these two friends of mine would constantly talk about it so I gave it a shot and loved it. I still watch this show regularly, It's my favourite... Sad it went out the way it did though.

it was weird when I first saw chuck. It was the exact same humor as the OC, with a little less drama. hopefully it gets renewed.
