the newest sum 41 "underclass hero" cd i thought was horriable. they could of done way better, and all the songs just drag on.
i regret buying it, i bought it thinking it'd be good, and it wasnt.
Edit:
even the album cover sucks!

Blah. I bought Seein Red - Workspiel, and it didn't do it for me at all. I think it was just such a great deal and I'm an impulsive buyer when it comes to these things...it's not a new album or anything. But I bought it recently so I'm sharing anyway.

yeah thats how i am, i buy on the spot haha and it sucks when the thing you buy sucks, because if you have to talk yourself into buying something, it isn't worth buying in the first place.

Yeah! It really does stink. It wasn't a major loss though or anything really. It was about 5 bucks, but still. Oh and good point, I shall use this method when debating whether or not I should buy something! Thanks. :-)

they hit it big in 2001 with the song Smokescreen....I'm sure you know it...."She only likes me when I'm high".....AMAZING song....so i paid like 15 bucks for the album at Sam Goody (must have been 01 haha) and the cd was awful, I gave it away to my friend that night.

Well I agree with the original poster- the new Sum 41 album was definetly pretty bad and I feel like they took a step backwards with their music. If they didn't want to keep doing that harder rock type of sound that's fine, their poppy stuff was great too... when they were ORIGINAL. But on the new album it seems like they just resort to sounding like a mediocre mix of Green Day and blink.
But aside from that, I feel like I really wasted my money on 2 albums this year:
The Rocket Summer's "Do You Feel" and Coldplay's "Viva La Vida". Each album I pretty much felt the same about: there was about 3 good songs on each and the rest was just boring and uninteresting.

I'm hoping everyone gets to hear the song Crazy feat. Britney Spears at least once before they die.
I really wish I had seen him on his only tour.

Yeah, there's a few keepers. I like "Please Just Take These Photos From My Hands" and "Set Down Your Glass", but overall it just does not match up to anything else of theirs so far.
i was in a used book store a few months back and i saw this scarlet album there. i didn't know what the cover of the cd looked like when brandon was the vocalist in the band and thats the cd i wanted to hear, but there was the only one album there. it was 89 cents so i figured id take the gamble...turns out it was definitely the wrong cd and it was a huge waste of 89 cents and my time.
I really regret buying Lies For The Liars by The Used

btw I think FTABH is worlds better than Santi and I'm actually enjoying it more than Almost Here. Next summer, pop FTABH in a car CD player and drive around, it was crazy fun driving music

Actually, I started buying their CDs when I was like eleven/tweleve; before I started downloading music off the internet. I had to buy them sneakishly because my mother thought that Mest would corrupt my mind.
The only album I do not own is Mo'z Money, Mo'z 40z, due to the fact that I am not allowed to mail money to Tony to get a copy. So, I just downloaded it off of someone who already owned.

In other news, a Pennsylvania mother was stabbed to death by her 16 year old daughter over a dispute over popular in 2002 pop/punk/soul act Mest. Initial police reports are sketchy, but witnesses say she was heard to scream "I'm just like Tony! STAB STAB STAB" whilst playing metro station at inhumanly loud levels. More details as this story develops.

Well if you are attached to it then that's fine...I only have Game Boy Color, but I have played Ruby on my computer, that one is pretty good but I am excited to someday play Diamond and Pearl (those are the DS versions)...I have been playing the oldies a lot trying to get more pokemon to L100 so I can use them on Pokemon Stadium. really? i love senses fail first cds, i love them all, but from the depths of dreams & let it enfold you are awesome cds, i bought them years ago when they came out, if you bought them along the way youd probaley listen and appericate them more than buying them all at once haha ive never done that with any band. thatd be kinda weird. like to go out and buy all 7 blink 182 albums. i wouldent appericate them seperatly then.
well theyre not totally bad but yea i agree with you that their first two cds are better. i think maybe still searching was kinda dragging it on a bit. but i guess i shouldnt have said it sucked. im sorry....): haha

haha yea i used to do that sometimes too.
well one i can think of is the senses fail cds. i heard them and thought they were so great so i bouth all three of thier cds (from still searching back) then i kinda got really tired of them and realized they kinda sucked.
Yeah Let it Enfold You was alright, but then still searching just went on and on and none of the songs stood out. And it was really depressing. Newest album is a little better, but still not something i really like.
yeahh maybe it'll grow on me? we'll see.

There were a few songs that had a lot of really good screaming in it, but then the rest of the songs were similar to Still Searching. I didn't buy the whole thing for that reason. Lungs Like Gallows and Wolves at the Door are pretty good.

well, the opening track could have just been heretic anthem again in the verses
and the rest could have been lifted from a stone sour album..
i want slipknot, the slipknot of the debut and iowa, not this crap and the subliminal verses crap
Could not disagree more.
I know Slipknot are not going to be the most loved band on here but from somebody who likes Slipknot's old material as you do I have to say I can't believe you would take that view on the latest two albums. They are progression for the band in every single way. Their debut, as loud as it was and as ''hard hitting'' as it was, is a bit of a mess at points with the whole nu-metal gimmick to go along with the masks. Iowa is just too dark for me and the lyrical ground covered at times is pretty strange and quite bad at times. The songs seem to all start to sound the same with the same guitars to 11 and as much noise as possible. They did slow down at times on stuff like 'Gently' and I thought when they experimented a bit and changed it up was when they really were dark and didn't need gimmicks. It was when their music was most creepy.
Vol 3 was a step forward. They got more noticeable riffs going, not as much noise, and it was much more effective. Just because it isn't blowing your eardrums doesn't mean they have become Stone Sour, who I am not a really big fan of. AHIG continues that trend but I think sees them mastering the craft of it a bit more. Stuff like 'Gematria' are harder hitting than 5 songs on Iowa combined. 'Gehenna' is a great song, really drawing their stuff out and while not losing their heaviness using new ways to come across in that really dark Slipknot way.
So yeah, I disagree.

Volume 3 was SHIT. Corey might as well have just taken a shit and recorded it. That album was garbage.
You claim Iowa was "too dark" for you? Too dark doesn't exist for a Slipknot fan. The darker the better.
New album is weak. Gematria is one solid song, one of Slipknot's best. That got me pretty pumped for the CD, sadly, the next good track didn't pop up until the last track, All Hope Is Gone.
Slipknot is garbage now. Fuck them.

But here's my actual disagreement with you.
Slipknot fans don't want progression. Most probably don't even know what the word means. They want brutal death metal. But they are too lazy to go find the actual fucking brutal stuff like Agoraphobic Nosebleed.
Slipknot's first album, while you feel it's just "noise" is by far their most talented album. Because they were not famous yet, they were actually allowed to do what they choose. THAT is Slipknot. Volume 3 and AHIS is what happens when a good metal band gets some huge hits while on their major label.
Iowa is their best album, IMO. We will never get good hard songs like Everything Ends anymore. The new CD is childish for Slipknot, and I could not have been more disappointed with it.
But it's still worlds better than Vol 3.

the farther you go back, it is a little heavier and a little faster. after the eulogy is similar to TCT but it has more heavy numbers whereas TCT only has 4 or so. Their first record is a lot more like a hardcore record than their newer alternative kind of stuff.

Slipknot's best album IMO is their first one. Raw, hungry, and powerful. Iowa (to me) tried to recreate that and just went heavy and a bit darker (great album). Third and fourth are just plain bad.
