i could have sworn i had you down like a math
your eyes like two blue snow balls
resting tiny crystals on me
and thats when i held them in my tired bones
walked around with the ice crawling up my spine
the frost leaking from every pore
brain like a rock. frozen. in a coma.
my heart beat fast enough to stay warm and cozy
so it pushed my brain out of the conductors seat, and took a hold of the controls.
then drove me out into the middle of the desert.
where i thawed and woke up
you're no where to be found
im soaking wet. in month old clothes.
stomach deflated, brittle throat.
but theres a note in my back pocket.
i open up the soggy pen bled message to read
"im sorry,
love,
the winter"
