I'm not a huge fan of 'hardcore' music, I guess thats what they're calling it lately. I enjoy some screaming and angst in my music, but I perfer catchy melodies and deep lyrics. However, The Rise is one of those bands that you can't help not to love. They're hardcore with a techno touch to thier music, and it sounds awesome.
I would have thought there would already be a reccomondation for them, seeing how the word of mouth about them is spreading quickly, but I did a search and nothing came up. They're CD is hard to come across, well at least thier first one (which towers above their second one.) However it can be found on ebay if anyone is looking for it. Thier second CD, which came out in October is only avaliable through the magazine Law Of Inertia, in issue 21, which you can order online.
However, you can sample some of thier music at thier site:

Well, I beg to differ on the whole concept of ALL hardcore not having deep lyrics. There are bands like Throwdown that it's not to hard to figure out with their generic "bro-core." But others like say, Black Cross, Suicide Note, and The Hope Conspiracy are on a different playing field and definitely have thoughtful lyrics.
But anyway, yes "Signal To Noise" is a very fun album. I saw them at hellfest a while back and they are such a great live band.

I'm not trying to say that hardcore music isn't deep, because I know it is. I just like to sulk in the lyrics, and I don't have the ears for hardcore, I just can't convey the words fromt he song, it's a personal thing. However, a few years back, Taking Back Sunday would be hardcore for me, so my musical taste and tolerance does evolve, very quickly.
Anyways, bumping the rec, I think everyone needs to check these guys out.

Well, I've been giving them a lot more playtime on my ipod, and I've fallen in love with the second album. I finally got it ordered (along with a subscription to L.O.I.), I'm going to be putting them online in my radioblog so you all can give them a once over! I'll have it posted by tommorow (I made a nice spiffy design for it :) )
