Armor For Sleep - WTDWYAD..in my opinion, that is one of the best stories that has been told in a CD..
you should listen to Volcano and learn the story behind the Volcano, it's far deeper and less blatant. The armor for sleep concept is cool, but it's way too spoon fed for me. Extremely obvious. I do really enjoy armor, but their music is fairly unoriginal and predictable, unlike Gatsby's in which I discover something new each time I listen to it. But, each to their own. Both are great CDs, its just that I think Volcano is the best CD in several years.

The new AFS album is, in my opinion, a little dissapointing. There are a few standout tracks, but a few songs that drag also. I expected better after Dream To Make Believe

Armor for Sleep is boring, formulaic crap. Gatsby's are in my opinion the most original and most constantly evolving band in the scene. Surprisingly, I'm going to go with Volcano. Not sure if I like it more than Ribbons and Sugar yet, but I love it the same. Definitely one of the best discs the scene has produced.

You're telling me to compare a perfectly constructed album (volcano) with a cliche concept album (WTDWYAD). The new afs is just Dream to make believe with better production. GAD should be compared with the new mae.

ribbons and sugar is one of my favorite albums, and from wht ive herd on purevolume, the follow up has much potential, so i go with gatbys, even tho afs puts up a good fight

volcano and gatsby's american dream, no doubt about it. i was disappointed with both of these albums though in a way. i like volcano a lot, but I still think Ribbons and Sugar was their best work. The new AFS was a huge disappointment though, since Dream To Make Believe was an excellent and fresh sound, and this is just too cliche.

I've only hear a little bit of each, and Armor For sleep is by far superior. GAD really didn't do anything for me. Compound that with the brilliance of Stay on the Ground and you can understand my decision.

when i first got the GAD cd i would have picked AFS, but after listening to volcano more i really, really like it, so ill have to go with GAD, although i can see why people pick AFS, just because it's more of a universally likeable sound, as more people will dislike GAD than AFS.
