It could be possible that I'm the only one on this board that loves hip hop, but for those here that do, I need some new reccomendations. Sage Francis has started up the revolution of me listening to a lot of it lately, but I need even more. So anys recs?

i never really listen to the roots' albums, but live, they are amazing.

Do you remember when Eminem did Lose Yourself at the Academy Awards, and The Roots played the music? it was amazing.

there's a bit too much spoken word stuff on the new album for my liking, but it's still sage.

I would LOVE to see them live. I heard they put on an incredible show. They just came to Oneonta State which is like an hour from me and I didn't go. I'm lame.

I love hip-hop, but I'm also a big fan of party rap (aka: all the stuff on the radio and mtv). I love The Game, Kanye West, Nas, Biggie, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, NWA, Obie Trice, most Lil' Jon songs, etc. etc. If it's got a good beat, I will probably like it.

Thanks a lot man.

I'm on co-op now for school, so I don't take classes and work all day for 3 days a week. The other 2, I spend in bed, or I'm out running errands or at record stores and shows. I'm mostly a lurker now here on AP, and post every now and then.

Atmosphere

Why does anyone like him? I bought his cd, thinking it would be decent.
Complete crap.. There were like two good songs on it, but I can't even remember them.
I think I lost the cd too.

I assume you're talking about the newest one, Seven's Travels. If you don't like that, try looking for God Loves Ugly, Lucy Ford, or Overcast. Maybe it's just that cd you didn't like, who knows. I don't think he's the greatest rapper to ever walk the face of the earth, but I like him.

I've only heard a few songs by Atmosphere so I can't really make a judgement, but what I have heard I don't enjoy. I like Gym Class Heros though.

I love that song (the original). I haven't listened to the remix much yet. I actually randomly downloaded the cd after reading the Pitchfork review. I wasn't really in a hurry to check out The Game because I was getting sick of all the 50 Cent/G-Unit overexposure and hype. I still haven't listened to the whole cd much yet to have an opinion, but I do like that song a lot.
