I'm currently a business major and I'm thinking of switching to Psychology, I'm a sophomore so i have already taken a handful of business classes. Any Advice for switching majors? good idea, bad idea

Talk to your advisor and see how far back you are. You may have to take a couple summer courses, but if that's the least of it, I'd do it for sure.

and its not that much work since you arent that far in college yet. i just picked up a minor in psychology and i already am a double major in marine science and biology with a minor in chemistry

I say do it. I stuck out my business major because I really just can't afford to switch to what I really want to do (journalism) and am definitely sad about it. The earlier the better!

I would say to look at the job outlook.. what do you plan on doing with Psychology? Research? Grad school?
Maybe I'm biased because I'm in business school..

My advice is that if you've fulfilled most of your business major requirements already, then stick with it (unless you are unhappy doing it to the point where it is giving you severe anxiety). Business is a really useful major, so having a degree in the subject will definitely work to your advantage during the job search process. You can even double major (with your other major as Psychology). Psychology is a very interesting field, but it's not always easy for people who pursue it as a major to find a job after they graduate from college. It's good to keep the Business major as a back-up.

psych > business. do it. And it won't take a lot of extra effort; I switched majors after sophomore year to something completely incompatible with everything I had already taken and only had to go an extra year. Just don't bank on being able to take any electives.

i wanted to switch from psych to marketing and im in my third year (although i am not a junior...) but i think i am just gonna do a double major. i already have too many psych classes for a minor.

actually, it does. i have already passed the minor requirements, so then i would have taken psych classes for no reason. think about it...

hmm i guess it was just the way it was worded. i would've said i already have too many credits so i might as well major in it
