Dead to Me - Little Brother
Record Label: Fat Wreck Chords
Release Date: October 28, 2008

Who?

Formed after the demise of seminal punk groups Western Addiction and One Man Army, Dead To Me issued their first recording, Cuban Ballerina in 2006 on Fat Wreck. Rounded out by vocalist/guitarist Jack Dalrymple, bassist/vocalist Chicken, drummer Ian Anderson and guitarist Nathan Grice, Dead To Me play a brand of melodic punk not dissimilar to that of their label-mates. Oh, and they have some killer rat-tails.

How is it?

Short, but oh so sweet. Each of the five songs here packs a punch, and leaves you hoping that their next full length will see the light of day in the not too distant future. The title track is a infectious blend of reggae-esque musicianship and catchy-as-hell four chord punk rock, while "Don't Wanna" is a straight-ahead freight train of precision power and unrelenting melody. And the other three songs here ain't too shabby either. The overall selling point here would have to be consistency. Although it's only five songs, it's still a very tight, focused five songs, and lends well to the promising start they put forth with Cuban Ballerina.

One Man Army; The Lawrence Arms; songs that won't leave your head; Descendants

Big lol at the rat-tails line. Well done.

Great EP, a perfect follow up to Cuban Ballerina. I'm anxious to see what they've got in store for us next.
