You can check out the Myspace page (http://www.myspace.com/bobdylaniscool) for the Bob Dylan Tribute Album that Drive-Thru Records (http://www.drivethrurecords.com) is putting out to see an updated tracklisting of bands contributing to the release. The disc is set to be released on June 21st. You can also hear Steel Train (http://www.steeltrainmusic.com)'s version of "Don't Think Twice (It's Alright)" on the page.
That comp is going to be awesome.
Except the exact opposite.
You can't fuck with Dylan, man.

I can't say i'm really looking forward to this tribute (although I thought the same thing about a Counting Crows tribute but it ended up rocking, Bayside's cover or Long December: you just cant beat that)

DTR is going to loose all its cred it had left by doing this.

Good song choices. There are some new Bob Dylan songs I'm going to have to check out now, though. I don't know about these really small bands doing some of the more popular Bob Dylan songs...I'm sure there's some logic there, but I'm not seeing it.
P.S. I'm loving the Steel Train cover.

I love Bob Dylan, but I just can't say I'm excited about this. I think I only like about two bands on this whole comp. And I believe covers should try to do things a little differentley, but these two songs posted seem very uniform.

This was my question as well.
Also, At first glance, I thought Corey Matthews was covering "I believe in you." It's great to see Ben Savage working again. Then cold, harsh reality crushed my dreams.

does anyone else think this is the worst name for a comp, or cd in general, ever?
some of these versions will be good, but the thought of a Dylan cover by Something Corporate is making me cringe

Steel Train's song is awesome, just as I would have expected. However, everyone is going to say Bob Dylan's version is better just because it's Bob Dylan. Understandably, I suppose.
