Chris Hughes (Autopilot Off (http://www.autopilotoff.com)) and John Naclerio (Nada Recording Studios) have created a new record label called Broken English Records, within the Warner Music Group. It has nothing to do with APO and it's a label for bands to get what they need from people who know what band's want. The first signing is A Second Chance (http://www.purevolume.com/asecondchance) and have a record coming out May 24th.

Best of luck to this label, so far it seems like they are off to a really good start with the first signing.

Sounds like it might be an interesting venture for them both. I wish them the best of luck.

ASC is wonderful group of guys who are as chill as they come, and Chris is a kickass guy as well. Some people may not know but he is also ASC's manager. The band was on my radio show a month or so ago with DJ RossStar, and we all had a blast talking about FUPAs and Bill Cosby with his "no-no" touches.

On another note, I really hope that rumor about Autopilot Off breaking up isn't true. :(

ASC played in Providence the other night...first time I heard them play any of the new songs live and it was honestly the best I've ever seen them perform, and I've seen them play a lot. This album is going to be amazing.

Broken English is a developmental label under Warner Bros. (much like Volcom and others). I wasn't told this by ASC, but I'm under the impression that Chris Hughes decided he'd rather focus on doing the label work than continuing with APO, who in my opinion isn't going anywhere and isn't doing much that hasn't already been done. Signing ASC and having the label with Naclerio is a brilliant move...it can only lead to great things.

Congrats to my boys in ASC...you deserve all the success that's sure to come your way.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for their support so far. As usual, Absolute Punk is the first to report things and get them correct (which is rare for most sites) and we appreciate it. We've had this idea of changing the way records were made and distributed for a long time and the people at the Warner Music Group and East West believed in us enough to give us our chance. Since John and I have experience being in signed bands and running a recording studio <http://www.nadarecording.com> we feel that we know what bands want, and, at the same time, what labels want from their bands. Our goals are long term and for our bands to build and have careers. Our design is simple; we can sign anyone we like, we can make our own records at our studio (where we've done records for Senses Fail, My Chemical Romance, Matchbook Romance, etc.), and we have REAL distro for those records. The staff at East West also support all our releases and help in areas that John and I cannot.
Also, for the record, I do not manage all the bands on our label, nor do I plan to. We're excited to work with other managers and anyone else who wants to add to the creativity and have fun doing it. Our doors are always open, so anyone should feel free to contact us and let us know what they are up to.
We couldn't be more excited about A Second Chance being our first release on May 24th and we have been really lucky to work with a band that is as dedicated and as talented as those guys (although i have a feeling we're going to have some hotel damage bills to pay soon).

APO has NOT broken up!!! I'll go fish for my posting on what CH said about it. Don't worry! And it's awesome that Hughs started a label. But the name sounds kind of ripped off from Broken Sound records.

Here it is: This rumor was floating around the APO message boards a while ago. A board member claimed to be a close friend of the band called "insiderinfoapo) and claimed that APO were breaking up soon. Chris Hughs (guitar player) confronted the board and said they were dropped from Island. He said the band are NOT breaking up. They love making music and love being the band they are. So all you fellow APO fans can wipe the sweat off your foreheads. It just might be a while until you hear something new from the band.
