All i've been listening to this week is the Suburban Legends (http://www.suburbanlegends.com). When this bands new album drops, they will take over the world. Mark my words.

Me three!
Me four!

"Rump Shaker" was definitely amazing. The only thing better is their live show.

sunday's are always dull around these whereabouts.

Brandon: What's your favorite song on the new RBF album? I assume 'A-W-E-S-O-M-E' but I figure I'll still ask.

They used to play every single day at downtown disney......and they had one good song. And they aren't going to take over the world.....no ska band will ever be really popular ever again.

Too bad they're basically a pop punk band with horns. Once you write a song about loving ska, but it has no upstrokes, you have no worth. Heck, even Reel Big Fish have more ska in them than these chumps, and that's a strech. If you want a new ska band that sounds undeniably emo with a hint of surf, check out http://www.purevolume.com/abillionernies/. They are actually original, and for that, they deserve props. Besides, the only mainstream ska band you need to know about now is Streetlight Manifesto. When their new album drops, this band will be long forgotten.

Brandon, every week you are always recommending Catch 22/Streetlight, Reel Big Fish, or Suburban Legends. Even if you hate ska or can only tolerate it, you know who these bands are.

It gets old. Recommend something new and different; old stuff no one has really heard about, or newer up-and-coming bands.

Well, maybe rehashed recommendations is just the AP.net thing to do. Weber recommends Gatsby's almost every week...

Anywho, for some quote unquote "fresh" ska-punk album recommendations may I suggest:

The Stray Bullets - Slings And Arrows Of Outrageous Fortune
MP3s located here. (http://bostonbullets.com/stray_bullets_band_music_samples.ht m) I love these guys, they remind me a lot of Operation Ivy. Just buy this cd. (http://www.interpunk.com/item.cfm?Item=57853&)

The Impossibles (RIP) - Anthology
Amazing. They lost their upbeats as they progressed, but all their music was delicious on the ears none-of-the-less. Anthology was an anthology of their ska years, afterwards they put out two more releases.... Pick up Anthology at Fueled By Ramen. (http://www.fueledbyramen.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=798)

Orangetree (RIP) - Fixing Stupid.
MU330's original singer (on Press and Chumps On Parade) started this short lived band. They had two releases, but Fixing Stupid was the better of the two. In the same vien as MU330's Chumps on Parade album. Get it here. (http://jumpuprecords.com/jump025.html)

These next two bands are no longer around, and their CDs are no longer being pressed. But, look for them; it'll be worth it.

My Superhero (RIP)- Solid State 14
My Superhero's second release. Ska punk with an accordian. I listened to them all day yesterday. Great music.

The Sellouts (RIP) - Drop In The Bucket and Get Takeout
Kids from Boston... in the same vein of Big D and Less Than Jake. Very catchy and energetic.

I have to agree. You do a great job Brandon but every week it's the same thing. Just change it up a bit and you'll do fine.

i think he was using a hyperbole kids. everyone take a deep breath, and realize that its going to be alright. i've seen someone say they are pop punk with horns, someone say they only have one good song, people saying ska will never be popular again, and others telling Brandon how to report the news of his choice. there is one man covering the ska news first of all, any ska music fan is just happy to see news on these bands. at least that is the way i am personally. the beauty of ska music is that no matter how popular one might think it is or how uncool they think it is, it will always feel like it is something to call your own. that feeling never goes away like it does with your average band.i am getting to the point where i am so tired of people with their elitist attitudes feeling like they can shove their opinions down my throat and have me believe it just because they presented in some clever way...fuck that and fuck you for trying. go get your god damn chick pants, black eyeliner, perfectly combed hair, and pictures taking from every angle that you refuse to look at the camera while you take them. this website is such a great thing(for the most part), and yet people seem to spend all their time bitching here. your bitching leads to me bitching about your bitching and i know you are getting tired of seeing that, so in conclusion "i hate to quote this song wrong but, 'why can't we still be friends.' " sorry it felt fitting to end with a quote from another band that has a horn section.

I'll choose not to respond to the negative comments in the thread.

However, my favourite song on the new Reel Big Fish album would be impossible to choose. It's a toss up between so many tracks: The Fire, Drinkin', Don't Start a Band, The Bad Guy, A-W-E-S-O-M-E, The Jokes On Me, Say Goodbye, etc. It would just be too hard to choose, as I really am enjoying the album.

Also, as for Suburban Legends albums, sorry, but I don't have the actual cd's on my computer that I could send you, I just own the discs.
