Looking For Band Members

What's up rockers! I literally just signed on like 15 minutes ago, anyway my reason for bothering you is that I'm looking for some members to join my band "The Vaudeville". The main idea around "The Vaudeville" is basically rock opera with actual opera influences(Yes, this means that I would be singing opera which kind of sounds gay but I promise it would sound awesome) . There is also a little screamo influences as well. Anyway, I'm looking for a drummer, a bass guitarist,a violinist,and a possibly a lead guitarist (even though I currently learning how to play the guitar myslef), all of which live in New York people ( I can't have members that live in the Africa or the U.K can I?) So, if you interested write back, if not then don't, its really not that difficult. If you have any questions write to me. Later Losers (I mean that in the kindest way;-) )

Pretty much. I usually go to the Detroit Opera House on weekends when I'm home and they have drop-in roles, you know like drop-in hockey where you just show up and play. It's like that except with full on productions and you can just sing Italian sounding words cuz it's not like anyone can understand you anyway.

Also it's super convenient because the DOH is like 3 blocks away from The Shelter so you can just go see Chiodos or someone totally better than whatever opera afterwards. I got it made.

The older folk keep me in the know about older shizz like Bellini and Puccini and I turn them on to wayyyyy less boring stuff like MCR etc. Gargling lemon juice and screaming at the top of your lungs really actually works wonders for your voice from a professional standpoint.

It's true. That's why when you speak underwater, it sounds all bubbly like vibrato. That's the sound you're trying to achieve.

We actually have sinks backstage that have a little opening that we just put our faces into like that Radiohead video and sing our songs to warm up.

Yes, it strengthens the voice. Sound waves are much different when travelling through water so you really have to strain your voice to achieve the great volumes that singers reach. Straining is a big part of building a good operatic voice.

Pretty much. I usually go to the Detroit Opera House on weekends when I'm home and they have drop-in roles, you know like drop-in hockey where you just show up and play. It's like that except with full on productions and you can just sing Italian sounding words cuz it's not like anyone can understand you anyway.

Also it's super convenient because the DOH is like 3 blocks away from The Shelter so you can just go see Chiodos or someone totally better than whatever opera afterwards. I got it made.

I can't say I play the guitar because I just started learning. I've been singing for years. I've had about 3 years of formal training from a vocal coach. As far as opera goes I know a few things about it but definitely not enough to build a band around it. It just that I love it so much.
