I went to a recent School Board meeting and before the meeting started, some older folks were debating Obama and McCain. It was a heated discussion, but it wasn't littered with hate. I'd like to think the New York electorate is intelligent.

What does that accomplish? On either side, stealing/destroying a sign is not going to make the owner vote for the other candidate. And it's not like people see a sign in a yard and say "oh hey, that just influenced me to vote for that person". Geeeeez.

Actually, the Obama hangings first started here at George Fox University months ago, and continued with little fanfare around the nation (google ftw), until the Palin situation got some attention - and then the subsequent Obama hanging did as well.
