pretty much. i mean, the only difference from this year to last is your o line. i know that's a big deal and all, but still, you'd think they'd be a little better than this.

i think a lot of it is game planning, like even with a banged up o-line you cant just try to run one time each drive, and just be like "oh it only got 2 yards i give up lets pass the rest of the way", eventually defenses catch on no matter how well garrard is hitting his men. and we dont have the kind of route runners who consistently get open.

its also a defense thats really lost its fluidity and fire, i mean that unit was broken up pretty bad by injuries as well -- our defensive leader, mike peterson, is still out and our secondary still hasnt hit its step with nelson and florence returning. mix that with a lack of momentum and morale from even the most futile offenses establishing long, successful drives against us, i mean this jaguars defense isnt half as good as it had previously been reputable for.

but those arent excuses, they're just reasons why we suck.

I think, even though we're just halfway through the season, it would take a huge collapse for us not to get a 1st round bye at the rate the other teams in the conference are playing.
The thing i like about this team is we're not going to get big heads. We're not a powerhouse team, we're not going to run up the score on anyone, but we're going to play our asses off every down of every game. I don't feel this team would overlook any opponent, no matter who was next on the schedule. This is a very focused team right now, and i'm confident it will be the rest of the season.

We beat the Bears next week and i think there's a real good chance we stretch the unbeaten streak to 11. Not that this matters to me much at all, i'd rather us lose a game than if we could by chance go undefeated. it just means nothing to me, i just want to win every week.
