The Academy is... (www.theacademyis.com) took some time off while on the "FBR and Friends" tour to do an interview with UpBeetMusic.com (http://upbeetmusic.com/interviewsS.php?id=12) where Bill reminisces of his old days as Remember Maine and says he has 10 songs already written for the next album!

www.remembermaine.com I'm not so sure a new RM record would happen that soon, seeing how The Academy is only going to get bigger from here on out... But has anyone else seen the RM myspace page? Because I don't think it's Will who put it up...
almost here is the best record out since deja entendu

I thought it was Remember Maine too. I wish. Next Academy Is album, it should come with a double disc, one is the full band, the second is a Remember Maine album.
Hey, I can dream.
If anyone has the first one could you send me it or something? Cause it's out of print as far as I can tell. :(
(Note : I've heard much Remember Maine, but want the whole album)

Yeah the Chicago suburbs scene used to rock. We used to have 504 Plan (great fucking band I don't even know why they broke up) August Premier, Knockout, then came Fall Out Boy , and the Academy is... now October Fall. It might start up again. And all these bands played small intimate places like the Knights of Columbus in Arlington Heights with a couple hundred kids. It was amazing.

yea, i think another remember maine record is a long shot. i talked to bill about it when the academy played here back in july, he noticed me because i was wearing my remember maine shirt, and he asked if i was mad about him not doing it anymore. so i'm guessing that means the academy is definantly his main priority, and that's amazing because goodness they are so amazing.

Same here. Got me all excited for nothing. I was at a show about a year or so ago and I asked Bill about Remember Maine and he was like woah you heard about that? I'm like um yeah. It would be nice when he takes a break from The Academy Is... if he recorded some Remember Maine songs it would be glorious.

He does have some new Remember Maine material though. I'm pretty sure there's at least one new song that is recorded.

I personally think one of the reasons the scene in chicago isn't as solid as it used to be is b/c of the scene politics. There are very few decent all ages venues to play in chicago...and one person controls the booking for 4 of them (Chicago kids know who I'm talking about) So if you're not on his good graces, cracking into the suburbs is impossible. However, If you don't crack in at the suburbs, you can't play the city. The clubs in the city want bands that draw. And it's very difficult to build a draw playing 21+ shows only. There are only 2 all ages clubs in the city (Metro and Bottom Lounge...and no, bottom lounge is not getting shut down anytime soon). Arlington Heights is an awesome venue. The guys who run in (meaning old men who rent it out) are completely nice and into letting kids have a good time (was there when a kid broke his leg during much the same, and the guy didn't freak out) the sound is pretty good, and the kids in the area are very supportive. However, unless your friends with one of the 7-10 bands that play there regularly, it's damn near impossible to book a show there. Bands form band cliques and unless your in a click it's very hard to break into the circle on your own. Ex: Best Defense has members from Onelife & Fertility and are good friends with Metro veterans reforma. Their second show ever...Metro. And I'm not hating on them, they put in toil and sweat in those first two bands, and I'm good friends with most of the guys in best defense...I'm just pointing out that sometimes it's more who you know than what you sound like....
end rant, i'm sorry, this whole thing makes me sound like a whiny bitch, but i'm not, i promise
