I disagree. I understand where you're coming from so there's no need to argue it, but I consider "hooking up just to hook up" to be an essential part of the college experience. If such an encounter ultimately leads to an emotional connection of some sort, then so be it. If not, it was fun, easy, and stress-relieving. It's a win-win situation.

I actually felt the same way for a while. I guess it's just because sex is instinctual, which allows us to rationalize our behavior when we do it in a situation that otherwise would make us feel guilty.

I think you're totally right actually. I suppose a kiss ought to have some emotion behind it as it isnt physically gratifying in any way, whereas sex performs the function of feeling great, so its easy to say thats why you're doing it, but with just a kiss or whatever, its like you're selling yourself short? I feel that random hook-ups are fine. I mean, we all get our sexual urges, it's human nature, and if you're having sex in a safe, healthy manner, I don't see why there should be a problem. As long as both parties are aware of the fact that it's a one night stand kind of thing.

I can totally respect and agree with the people who prefer relationship-sex though. It's always better to have sex with a person you truly care deeply about but I don't think random hookups are a bad thing when you're single. That's just my opinion.
